how do I change a water pump for a 1994 mercury villager??? drain coolant first,take off serpentine belt loose 6 bolts on water pump take off water pump clean well,put new gasket than install new pump

does water leak when a water pump is going out what should I look for to know my water pump is going out yes it will leak. there is a weep hole on the pump that will leak coolant when the pump is bad.
