2003 Mercedes-Benz C-Class "key wont turn" Questions

key wont turn in ignition key works can lock and unlock battery works i believe signal from key to car wont disengage wheel. Move the steering slightly from left to right while turning the key

car this morning and the key wont turn but no noise when i put the key into the ignation . the radio and laights are coming on and the car is locking with the keys , also the steering wheel is locked
