Bakers Pride Y-600 Gas Single Oven "control panel gets hot" Questions

panel gets too hot recently installed a whirlpool ignis akl905/ix built in electric oven. The front panel where the controls are gets hot - not just warm but extremely hot. Is this supposed to happen?
