Sony CRX835E CD-RW/DVD-ROM (Combo) Burner "cannot burn" Questions

my drive cannot detect dvd disc but can read and write cd after i bought it, it works well but when i reformat my pc my drive is having difficulty in reading dvd disc and now it cannot completely read
