Most transmissions back then had a "vacuum modulator" it's mounted to the side of the transmission and has a vacuum hose going to it, if it has this valve it's bad change it and smooth shifts will return. I hope this helps. Take Care.

I think you will find that most all RV's come with an online manual. You can either search for your problem online or download the sections you need. BE ADVISED a full download of a manual can require lots of paper and ink cartridges! Fleetwood is good about providing online manuals or parts of a manual dealing with what you are looking for. I have a 2000 Fleetwood 36ft. Class A Motor Home and was able to locate everything I needed from their site. Good luck, and if you still have questions just drop me a line.
