I built a gm 350 small block dynod at 455 ibs of torque 460 hp at 5700 rpms used lighter flex plate instead of fly wheel now have erratic idle when out drive was installed

the problem will be the light flex plate
there is no dynamic energy stored to assist with the crank shaft revolutions
worked well on the dyno because it was connected to a shaft and plates in the dyno which assisted with the crank running

How to get more power and pass Calif. smog 91chevy c1500 4.3 v6 ?

best advice is to have a turbo fitted by an accredited turbo specialist shop. They will have the equipment, knowledge and chips available to tune the engine on a dyno to pass regulations. They will also be certified to fit the modification plate to the vehicle to keep you legal.

Have a 2010 r1 fully dyno jetted power commander , and akraprovic cans, back fires when started , but when run starts no bother , is this normal

Backfire is when the carburator gets blown off. This is an extremely bad condition, and is probably not what you are are having. The bang that comes from the exhaust pipe that gets loaded up with unburnt fuel and then is ignited by the cyclinder is most likely cause by the valves not closing correctly but once they warm up then clearances change and everything is lubricated and slippery.

Fush the oil system and use a better oil and stay on the light side if you can it will keep the engine cleaner. DO NOT USE TEFLON or SYNTHETIC. If you do you will go about 2000 miles and your clutch will quit working.

Change oil often - about every 2000 miles - until the condition clears up.

"Evaporative System Not Ready"

if there are no fault codes for the problem and there is no known problem then it is possible that the smog machine is not connecting properly to the data plug

The check engine light keeps turning on after I have the oxygen sensor replaced. I've had the sensor replaced 3 times as the light keeps turning on and the shop keeps telling me that that's the only thing...

are they replacing the correct sensor? try bringing it to a vw specific shop that is not a dealer! make sure the air filter is not clogged. without doing a full scan in vag-com it would be very hard to diagnose the problem

I have a GSXR 750 fuel injected model 1997 I bought for track use only. The problem is that despite fitting a pwer commander the bike will not hold a constant throttle at 7000 rpm its as if there is a rev...

hopefully you don't have a TRE (timing ****** eliminator) on it, if you do take it off, removing it ill make it easier to hold a smooth rpm especially in a turn. Also, the first generation power commander is ****. You can take it off that bike and most likely get the same results on the dyno. Those bikes self adjust whether you put a slip on or full system it and the first generation power commanders were still experimental. I've taken one off of a problematic race bike and personally had better results and faster lap times. I used to road race, now just do track days. I've always owned gixxers and still have 2.

Maps

power commander website; customer service; try to pick a map w/similar intake/ exhaust listed; P/C is not an exact science w/o a dyno. thats what makes it good for shade tree guys you can change maps a dozen times a day and see how it rides or find an indy dyno shop and have them tune it right the first time. it may be a big nut but in the long run a GOOD shop will save you time, money and a head ache down the road...make sure they have a dyno though or else they are just guessing too albeit an educated guess but still a ballpark. a dyno can dial it in!

08 Street Glide install bub full exh with crossover, eliminate o2 sensors and install power commander and add o2 sensor electric caps,Check engine lite is on

Your check engine light is on because you are not providing the proper signal that used to come from the oxygen sensors. Install the sensors in your new exhaust (yes, drill it and put them back in), then connect the wiring correctly and it will work.

TRAC LIGHT ISSUE

The trac light does NOT come on for the smog test. It has noting to do with the smog test. The trac light DOES come on when the Check Engine light comes on, when a failure is detected. From what I remember, the trac light WILL come on if the smog is a "dyno-driven" smog test, but it has nothing to do with the test, the trac simply comes on because only one wheel is spinning, just like it will when you are spinning on ice.. Hope this helps.
