Lots of possible causes / solutions. Make sure that oil is correct type and amount, make sure there are no leaks, check any oil cooler for damage, look at eack spark plug in turn making sure that they only show light brown not black discoloration, change oil and filters. Hard to say more without seeing.

engine type and capacity eg1.5,1.8,2.0 armed
with this info head down to your parts shop you
will need.
oil correct grade for your car 5litres will be more than
enough or just right for 4 cyl.

spark plugs some cars use irridium or platinum with
some cars these do have standard equivilant that are
cheeper
fuel filter
air filter
a can of throttle body cleaner to clean the throttle body
jack up the car sit it on stands never trust a jack
remove the drain plug from the sump drain the oil into
suitable dish or container and dispose of it responsibly
replace the sump plug and tighten it firm
locate and remove oil filter fit new filter spin it on then
tighten by hand half a turn
locate and change fuel filter dont forget to inspect filters
for leaks when service is finished
add new oil to correct level start engine run til
oil light has gone out swich off recheck oil level
remove spark plug leads mark them or do one at atime
change spark plug put leads back on
open air box remove old filter loosen clamp on air intake
where it fits on to engine at throttle body move out of the
way hold butterfly open and spray with cleaner to remove
built up deposits a small bottle brush is good to get inside
refit the air intake pipe and filter the cleaner will make the
engine run a bit rough you may have to wind it a bit to start
it it will clear itself after running for a short time be shaw to
refit any plugs or connectors and pipes
Basically it needs a service(engine). Starting problem can be due to many cause, like,
improper fuel-air mixture or fuel pump is not as efficient enough to supply the required amount immediately, thus taking more time to start.
plugs spark gap needs to be corrected/cleaned/replaced depending upon its condition now that take tine to heat up a bit before the spark gap is enough to produce the adequate intensity of the spark and this will affect cold starting.

do you have the right fuel filter? some are for pressure and some are for gravity feed, the pressure type (fuel pump) wont flow the gas correctly. another possibility would be the coil.
You must be careful with the 90s mitsubishis as the oil used is important.If you use the cheaper types they tend to make the engine smoke and use excessive amounts.Also manufacturer grade of oil to be used is also important.Have you taken the spark plugs out to see if they have signs of oil burning on them?
