You will have to remove the front sprocket cover, best check carefully the chain did not cause any damage inside the cover to the crankcase when it broke, also check the sprocket for signs of ware as this may contribute to early failure of the new chain, paul

My timing chain broke on my toyota 22re engine did i bend any valves and how do i check? it was idling at the time and it just died i diudnt hear any weird sounds it just died

Don't concern yourself with thinking you may have a bent valve or any other destruction inside. Just replace the timing chain and go on with your life. I've been thru timing chains also, nothing else ever happened. And I know these 22re's inside out, for the past 20 years or better. You just can't destroy them. One I just took of the road for frame repair has over 500,000 miles on it. Replace front main seal and sleeve twice. Anyway, if you've never replaced a 22r chain, get a Hanes manual at any Pep Boys auto parts outlet to find out how to do it. Just be sure to follow the instructions explicitly. You don't want the timing off evn a single tooth.

Yamaha banshee

14 - 41 = 2.93 ratio
15 - 46 = 3.06 ratio..
6-7 links.. you need to move the axle all the way forward when installing a new chain... (it will stretch!) moving the axle all the way forward gives you plenty of adjustment later!!

Can a broke gasket around the timeing chain cause the car to smoke

yes because there are seals there for the oil and if it is leaking and the engine is hot, it will create smoke.

Timer chain.... what is it... My car went bang and will not start... but it is still trying to turn over...

There is a good chance it is. If you heard that bang, it might have broke. You have a front and back cover piece that protects the timing belt/chain. You can take that front cover off to check. It should only have one or two bolts. Take it off and see if the belt/chain is broking. If so, it will have to be replaced. If it is not, let me know. It may be other things. Sara, if you have a question, let me know.

I took the exterra for oil change and after that it started to make a noise like little stones jumping in front in the hood inside.

If the noise is there all the time,I would suspect the timing chain

All Frontiers,Exterra and Pathfinders,2004 thru Nov 2009 have that problem

There is a new Borg Warner chain out, to fix that,of coarse any chain guide issues and oil activated tensioners, should be checked out or replaced

Chain is slipping and jumping gears

okay lets ask why it broke did it get jammed?was it worn?is your front crankset or rear gearset loose with play in it?does the chain make a clicking while pedalling hard? first and last require a replacement chain because it broke for a reason.if your drive gears are loose then you will have to adjust/repair them also checking adjustment on the derailuers should be checked.
hope this helps

My toilet handel is broke.how ican install

Remove the water cover lid then remove the chain connector at the handle looks like a diaper pin then unscrew the nut holding the handle in place and feed the handle assembly threw the nut and buy new handle assembly and replace. IF it's just the chain is broke replace the chain they are sold separately at any hardware store. IF it's the valve you can replace it as well by shutting off the toilet water valve, next disconnect the hose and go buy a float assembly that is similar. Adjust the new float assembly to be the same length as the old one then install gasket on the float and put in the hole for the float, install second gasket on the float on the outside and then install the nut and install the hose. Before you tighten the nut on the float make sure the float valve lines up with the handle and the float then tighten down hook up new chain and tighten the water hose, tighten the nut on the float and open the water valve. Watch the water level fill up if it looks like it's going to run over you will have to adjust the float so that it does not run into the throat of the toilet.

Bike chain broke on my 21speed promax A series MGX,how do i replace it?

You will need to first determine what the chain broke. If it is because of where you will need to replace the can with a new on. If it was anothe reason then you have a couple options. If you want to repair this yourself you will need to have a bicycle chain tool. Otherwise your local bicycle shop can reinstall the chain for a very low cost, less then the cost of a new chain tool.

If you are going to install it you can remove the bad link and reinstall the chain, however this will likely make you chain too short.

If you are going to replace the chain:
1. Lay the old chain out completely.
2. Cut the new chain the same length as the old chain. If using the quick link provided then make sure to cut the chain with two male ends and make it one link shorter then the original chain.
3.Start installing the chain from the rear derailleur. Start putting the chain in from the lower pulley(wheel on derailleur). Push over the lower pulley and under the upper pulley. Then back up behind and over the cassette (gears on the rear)
4. Now continue pulling the chain to the front. Go through the front derailluer and down around the chainrings.
5. Connect with the other end of the chain.
6.Use the quick link provided with the new chain or push the pin back into the chain (unless in is a shimano chain, then use the provided new pin)

SUZUKI INTRUDER 125, WHICH CHAIN SHOULD I BUY

the chain type is 428. take chain off and count # of links.give those 2 #s to parts guy. when you replace a worn chain, the front and rear sprockets should be replaced at the same time, because worn sprockets and a new chain will cause accelerated chain wear. count # of teeth on sprockets & give those 2#s to the parts guy also. if you want a longer wearing chain, buy one w/ the highest tensile strength, once again, parts guy can help you find that.dont forget, lube & adjust chain as needed.
