Hi mate as you know its hard to diagnose without experiencing for myself but i'll tell you what i have experienced in the past with gear boxes on bikes i only ride 125s two strokes i have had four strokes in the past but being such small engine cc two strokers win hands down on performance lol but i still know quite alot about bikes as to me a gear box is a gear box. Right have you tried changing down when your speed is lower as if u r going to quick gear boxes don't like, change down but very rough or just refuse to drop until your engine spped and rpm r low enough as high speed n revs it to fast and has effect of a gear worn or clutch problem. But if your clutch is slipping at speed you start with cheapest first n obvious adjustment from the actual clutch arm down on the engine block it maybe the cable has stretched over time and clutch isn't engaging enough or worst cases clutch plates need renewing or you may even have a bent gear selector fork like i said try from the top of what i'e said till u get to this point hope this helps
Bike is 15yrs-ajust clutch 1st-if no relief then a bottom end will have to be done and u need a clymer manual and special tools--the book covers complete maintenance
