Sure, just take the cover off and then there are a few nuts that hold the air filter to the air filter backing plate. Since the crankcase breathes into the air filter, EPA requirement, it's a good idea to remove the air filter cover occasionally and clean the oil residue out. This is probably why the droppings look a bit oily. You may wish to consider installing a K&N air filter. They are made of a type of cloth and they are washable.

Good Luck
Steve

Kohler Command 14 OHV, Simplicity, riding lawnmower. oil is mixing with gas and blowing out valve cover breather tube and into air filter chamber. What's wrong?

The needle and seat in the carburetor are not sealing. If you don't want to have the carburetor rebuilt what you need to do is change the oil and install an inline fuel shut off valve in the fuel line so you can turn the gas off when the mower is not running or in use.

1998 ford escort has full power , stalled at intersection and now wont start, any ideas

might have a fuel filter problem or a fuel pump problem meaning the filter might be clogged or the fuel pump in the gas tank is not pumping check ur fuse box there is a fuse for the fuel pump in there if it if blown replace and then turn car over again. if its ok then it still could be a fuel pump problem check the fuel filter located by the gas tank under the car or take to a local mechanic if u do not want to do it ur self. fuel filter is easy to change very easy.a fuel pump on most cars the gas tank as to be dropped.

88 fox runs but if you give it gas it dies, doesnt seem have vac leak, but acts as tho it does??????

I would first check the fuel filter. take it off and blow through the end furthest away from the injection system. See if any gunk comes out by having a folded paper towl handy to blow the gas into. If there was then replace the filter. If not and it seems to blow through faily easy the put it back on. If this wasn't the problem after checking that out then check the air filter. Hold it up to the sun or some bright light if it is cloudy and make sure the like trys to come through. If it if dark then replace. You may be able to take an air hose and blow it out good enough to get your car running again. You type of car will not run good if at all with the firlter out. Let me know if we found it and if not I will think of the next step. raz

2 Rheem Protech 500 thermostats, 1 upstair & 1 downstairs with a Rudd Achiever 90Plus gas furnace. Thermostat downstairs works fine but upstairs one cycles fan on and off 2-3 times during heating...

Have you checked to make sure that all of the supply registers are open, the air filter is clean and nothing is blocking the return air grill?
It almost sounds like you could be cycling on a limit switch.
Usually on gas furnaces, the blower is controled by the onboard controls, in the cooling mode the thermostat will control the blower.
I would be looking past the thermostat, at the furnace it self.
I hope you find this helpful. If you continue to experience problems, please let us know and we will dig deeper. :)

Turns over but wont start

OK three essentials for a running motor......

1. Fuel - Check to ensure you have gas up to the engine. Check fuel filter, fuel pump and fuel injectors.
2. Spark - Make sure your system has electrical current to fire the plugs. Check your wires to the coil(s) the plug wires, cap & rotor and spark plugs and gaps.
3. Air - Check to make sure any air flow sensors are connected, most cars wont run with the MAF (Mass air flow) sensor disabled. Check your air filter to make sure its not dirty. if it is it can restrict air flow and cause your motor to flood its self out instead of allowing the gas to ignite, hope you found my answer helpful!

Oily watery stuff coming out off the exhaust, oil pump is set ok

is this bike a yamaha rd 350 twin cylinder 2 stroke? if so, its air cooled and you should not be getting a ltr of water.. but it is common for them to have a "oily" fluid come out the exhaust because it is a 2 stroke. but not alot. it comes from the engine not burning all the oil gas mix. does the engine spit and sputter? make sure there is no water in the tank, make sure the air filter is clean and buy hotter spark plugs. also adjusting the fuel air mixture may help. hope this helps...
