Have 2001 kawasaki zx9r runs fine after 30 ta 40 min bike wants to back fire and loses all power but stays running shut bike off turn it back on try to take off and it dies on me but I can leave it running in neutral shut bike off wait an hour can ride it 30 to 40 min and it does the same sometimes when putting it into gear it don't feel like its going into gear when all this is happening

oil in airbox usually means tooooooo much oil...way too much. check oil level (bike upright) replace air filter

You can remove the fan and put 12v straight to it to see if it comes on. If it tests good you have a bad fan switch which is on the radiator. The switch threads into the left side of radiator. You will need to have the left side plastic panel off to get to it.
