Wrong, the number that follows K is year. At least on my 2009 harley. Read the manual again.

The frame number is the Vehicle Identification Number. If the engine is the original engine, then the engine is the same year as decoded from the frame number. If it is not the original engine, you are hosed as to determining the year of the engine. The engine numbers will not identify what year the engine is. The only identifier is the frame number. Engine numbers are useless since they only denote the engine size, assembly plant, and sequence of that engine in a production run. You can go to the site below and enter the frame number into the VIN decoder to get the year and other information. Note; back in 1985 the manufacturers adopted 17 digit VIN. If you have less than 17 digits you are out of luck. Please rate my answer. Thanks. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/kawasaki.asp

I have a kx85 engine i need to know what year it is so i can get a new crankshaft for it . Engine number is KX085CE009452 . Any help would be appreciated.

Based on the engine number (KX085CE009452), it appears that your KX85 engine is a 2000 model year. Here's how we can break down the code:
KX: Identifies the model as a Kawasaki KX dirt bike.
085: Indicates the engine displacement as 85cc.
C: Represents the year code, with "C" corresponding to 2000.
E: Denotes the engine type (not applicable for determining the year).
009452: Serial number specific to your individual engine.
Therefore, you should be looking for a crankshaft compatible with a 2000 Kawasaki KX85 engine when searching for a replacement.
Search online parts databases: Several online platforms allow you to search for parts using the engine number and filter by year. However, double-check the information with a reliable source before purchasing.

I need to know the year of my Ford V- 8 engine. It is a 302 and the number on the engine block is 9K2B?

You need one more bit of information!!!
What we have is your engine date code, providing the year of manufacture, but not the "Decade" of manufacture. You will need the Engine Tag/Plate number for additional info.
9K28
  • 9 = ninth year of a certain decade
  • K = month
    • A = Jan
    • M = December
    • (i is not used)
  • Next 2 digits are numbers, hence I think your B is an 8
Your engine was manufactured on October 28, 19x9 to find x you need to ...

Locate the Engine Tag / Plate... (this is for Ford Engines)
  • It can be near the coil, where the bolts secure it.
  • by/under the oil dipstick tube
  • under heat indicator bulb
  • under the stud attaching carburetor (this is for larger engines)
There will be a long number on it.
And it will start with an Alpha Character...
  • 1st position - Probably not an "A"... but this letter designates the "Decade" in which the engine was built.
    • "B" = 1950's, C = 1960's, etc
  • 2nd position - will be a numeral from 0 - 9 and this designates the year (1st to 10th) of the above decade it was built.
  • 3rd position - Basic design of the Vehicle
    • example: A - Generic engine, full size, E or T - Truck, L - Lincoln, M - Mercury, and for you car buffs... O - '67-'76 Torino's and all Fairlanes, Z - Mustangs,
  • 4th position - Almost always an E - meaning made by the Engine Design Team (which Design Team? Engine design team)
  • And the last 4 positions are the part number of that engine
Just for fun, this is a cool site...

Just bought a yz250 , checked the vin and it comes out at a 2004 frame, the problem is i want to know the engine year which is stamped 5CU engine year is what i need to find out please.

The frame number is the Vehicle Identification Number. If the engine is the original engine, then the engine is a 2004. If it is not the original engine, the engine numbers will not identify what year the engine is. The only identifier is the frame number. Engine numbers are useless.

I have a 1993 mr2 and need an engine loom diagram for when i fit the replacement engine

I can help! Are you doing a N/A to turbo swap? Or just engine for engine? Mostly year for year will be the same...JDM or USDM. Depending on year...My first suggestion would be to go to Toyota and buy the 2 Big Green Books for your year. They have FULL wire diagrams amongst COUNTLESS things you will need to know. 2nd...I would go to MR2 tech .com...They have most of the pages of the BGB there. Anything you need let me know! Ive done many swaps in the 2nd gen. Good luck!

2003 xj600 needs an engine what year engine will fit???

Many years will fit as this engine is an old one that has had minor internal mods over the years. If you want to keep the same performance you need to stay close to your model year.

Need year on manufacture

You can call your local Kawi dealer and order a engine part (like the alternator or clutch assembly) based on the code you have and they will tell you what year it is.
