I bought a pegasus 150cc qlink scooter with 1062 miles on it. it had been sitting for almost a year. everything ran fine for the first couple of days, now ill be riding and it just dies. when I try to start it I get nothing. the battery is still good because I still have lights, horn, blinkers etc. but it won't even crank over. after a while, it will start right up. I filled the tank with super to try to clean up the old fuel. should I drain the tank completely, or could this be a different problem entirely? possibly a loose wire? any help would be appreciated. @
I had a problem after a while with my Pegasus. Once it got warmed up, it would stall if I rolled off the throttle, and not start, until it cooled down. It was okay for a 4 or 5 mile trip ... and hour to cool down ... and the 4 or 5 mile trip back.
The problem was the spark plug. As simple as that.
After one year sitting there, the jets are clogged out. You can clean the carb but I recommend that you buy one new; only $50 bucks, is up to you
Its possible the starter or the starter solinoid are not working properlywhen they get hot the starter may need new brushes and bushes or the solinoid may need replacing
Sounds like you have some dirt inside your carb remove it and clean out the jets then check the spark plug make sure its not dirty and finally drain the tank and replace the petrol
when petrol sits inside a tank for a while it can start to solidify
hope this helps
