Ok, locate and check the fuse at the starter solenoide, this is the main power fuse, follow the red battery lead until you locate the solenoide, here you should find under a cover a 30 amp fuse, hope this helps , paul

DO NOT JUMP START MOTORCYCLES!!!
Your main fuse is blown.
Motorcycles have much lighter gauge wiring and will burn up if you try to jump start them, this is why the fuse is installed so car guys dont burn up the wiring on their bikes!
Only charge a motorcycle battery with no more than 2.5 amps of charge.
Or install a new battery.

Need radator for kawasaki vn 1500 classic tourer 2001 is the driffter the same radator as the vn 1500 classic plz hellllllllllllp

TO ALL VN1500 OWNERS....This once happen to me,
I went to the garage to start the bike "Nothing ""The first thing is the lights are bright but no turning over,Next you think the solenoid is kaput but the answer was very simple and the fix takes 30 seconds..
Do not take the bike to bits looking for other problems and look at the clutch leaver and you will see some wires going into a plastic shroud going into the switch in the clutch leaver, Make sure this has not popped out if its connection as it some times may do after a few years due to constant turning on the handlebars,
When this is not connected you will have a bike that will not fire up but comes alive and you will hear a clicking noise but this is from the engine carb area and every function of the bike will work but it will not turn over, Worth looking at and saves sixteen quid for a starter unit you never needed.

No power to my vulcan nomad

have you checked the main fuse? just follow the positive cable from the battery to the main fuse ( usually a 30 amp). make sure battery terminals are connected properly.

2005 Vulcan Classic Kawasaki 1500 F.I. was running fine, let it sit up, battery died, new battery in, now there is no power at all. No Ignition lights, headlights,signal lights, no sound at all when...

Make sure the new battery was charged before use. Many require an overnight charge at ~ 2 amps. If battery is charged, but still nothing happens, check for a blown fuse in the small wire that goes to the positive battery terminal. You may need to use a voltmeter or test light for locating where the voltage is getting lost. Good luck!

00 kawasaki ninja zx6r my bike don have no power, no lights or horn, nothin is comin on whats wrong , i check battery and fuses plus starter relay everythin is ok i just dont have no signs of power, thanks

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

I understand that you have checked the:
  • battery - that it is fully charged and that the cables & terminals / connectors are clean and tight;
  • fuses - including the 30 Amp main fuse;
  • starter relay - there is +12 on the white wire.
Should the above hold true, then the only remaining components to suspect / check would be the always on +12 connectors and/or the ignition switch.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

2003 VULCAN NOMAD 1500 WILL NOT START AND STATER DOES NOT ENGAGE AND LIGHTS GOES DEAD WHEN TURING KEY TO START POSITION

If you take a voltage reading at the battery when you are pushing the starter button, my guess is you will have 11-12vdc until you push the button and it will drop off. It sounds like your battery doesn't have enough current (cranking amps) to engage the starter. That is why the headlight will work until you try to start the bike and then the light goes out. It is pretty common for motorcycle batteries to go bad every 2-3 years. How old is the battery?
