you have to take rear wheel out to do pads but when you put it back together you have 3mm of play each side you need a triumph tool that goes through the rear spindle and a vernier gauge to get it all lined up correct had this problem myself dont go by the marks on the swinging arm also need a belt tensioneryou have to take rear wheel out to do pads but when you put it back together you have 3mm of play each side you need a triumph tool that goes through the rear spindle and a vernier gauge to get it all lined up correct had this problem myself dont go by the marks on the swinging arm also need a belt tensioner
This can be done without removing the wheel,If you go to thunderbird 1600 world forums and have a search you will find how to do it.This can be done without removing the wheel,If you go to thunderbird 1600 world forums and have a search you will find how to do it.

Has it always done this ? Have you checked the bearings , tyre condition , fork seals , fork air pressures balanced etc ? Have you changed the make of tyre ? Check the Rear end also as it can transpher ! You can buy any damper and make it fit as long as the travel is enough and make clamps !
Just a thought, 1st check if your speedo is cable driven or electronic in either case make sure you have correctly engaged the drive mechanism on the front wheel.
it should beon the sump it should be about a 19 mm or 17 mm bolt,if you have the owners manual have a look under servicing if you do not have this ring your dealer and ask them cheers hope this helps
Look underneath on the bottom of the sump and you will see a plug with an allen key socket. To remove the filter is very difficult without the correct triumph tool.(T3880313)
Hi. Unfortunately the manual for the TB 900cc is not part of my collection. I have some technical documents for TB 900 and I may have the service manual for the TB 1600. The best manual for TB is probably the Haynes. The manual is available from the link below:
As far as I know there's no manual (yet) for your bike, but there's a special Thunderbird forum www.thunderbird11600.com. Maybe someone there can tell you what you want to know.
