I have a yamaha zx400 motorbike the problem im have is setting up the timing for the cams ....can anyone help please wayne

remove ignition cover , put piston next to cam chain at tdc and move cams round with chain over cogs till aligning marks on cogs line up with head face edge and replace cam retainers , some engines have small dots on cams that line up on the retainers which have a mark on so you can see them aligne too , if ok then fit chain tensioner and guide and rotate engine in direction of rotation with bike in gear and rotate rear wheel by hand to check if valves miss pistons etc ! all ok then refit all parts and run up P...

My zx400 kawasaki 1992model is hard to start the engine

Check Fuel, spark and air. Is the tank empty? is there a spark at the plugs? is your air filter clean? If all of this is good you might like to give us some more info. Does it turn over, or just click? Does it try to start but won't run?
