My 2006 Yamaha 1700 had a Speed box added to it, one step is the size of the air cleaner box is larger. After the Speed box was added and I took the bike in for an oil change, the mechanic found the bike to be running lean. He upped the jets and replaced the air box. Ever since then I have had a oil leak coming from the air box. Do you know anything about problems of this sort?

Theres not supposed to be oil in the air box lol or near it. you should call the mechanic and tell him ASAP. otherwise you need to find out exactly where the leaks coming out of..

remove the carbs and have them professionally overhauled
indicates a problem in the high speed circuit , probably a blockage
might also be an incorrect float level that is not allowing enough fuel into the bowl for hgfh speed operation

My 2006 yamah road star 1700 keeps flooding out and filling the cylinders with fuel.

Either some gunk is causing the float valve not to seal with it's seat, or the float is set waaay too high.

How to make my yamaha 2006 yj125v run top speed

larger air filter, hone the cylnders, shave the piston, bye an enhancment chip if goverened. larger jets, if carb, larger carb.as they say more air in mor exhast out, better petrol burn, FASTER. change yr drive cogs front or back, gain speed loss power, vice versa, could write a book on it.

Hi I have A 2006 yamaha midnight star 1700 with 4600K it came from dealer with kn air vance and kines straight pipes and has been jetted for this by dealer. It was surviced in oct then parked till two...

When carburetors sit dry, the jets and the needles that go through them oxidize. The oxide makes the surface grow, making the needles have a larger diameter, and the jets a smaller hole.

Replacing the jets and the main metering needles usually restores the performance.

Just had my carbs refurbished bike starts on choke

It sounds like it is running too lean for some reason. First, let's assume that the normal tune up items are correct (valve tappet clearances, spark plugs are good, air filter, etc.). Also included in this assumption is that the engine has good compression (at least 140 psi on all cylinders) and that there are no air leaks between the carbs and the engine.
The aftermarket exhaust will generally require larger jetting in the carburetors - especially when combined with anything but the stock air cleaner box assembly. So, right off the bat, plan on going up to the next size larger pilot and main jets for the exhaust alone - PLUS another two to three sizes bigger if you aren't using the stock air cleaner box.
Finally, make sure the carbs that you have refitted to your bike are not clogged up from sitting with gasoline in them. It only takes a few months for the fuel to evaporate and leave behind a varnish that will require the carbs to be disassembled and cleaned.

06' V-star 650 wont idle...

Take the carbs back off and clean the jet completely,This is a carb issue and that is what you should focus on.
