Oil got change. Bike will not start. Change the plugs in it. Check for spark. Act like it want to start but it won't start

if theres a spark at the spark plug then your problem is with fuel. take out spark plug and pour a cap full of fuel down the hole, put plug back in and try to start it. if the bike starts you could be lucky and it will keep running. if it dose not then you need to check fuel lines and carb.... putting a bit of fuel in the head should fire the bike up and hopefully fill the carb and lines to keep it going

Got c000 code but bike still will not start

C00 means there is nothing wrong that the computer recognizes. you need to give alot more info to answer correctly. some issues do not throw a code i.e. bad plugs (unless its the coil to that plug), dirty injectors etc.

Bike runs good but when I give it full throttle, especially in 2nd gear, it cuts out and almost stalls. Do you have any suggestions?

Could be starving for fuel or could be the coil. Is it fuel injected or carburetor ? Now when it cuts out this is the important part. When it cuts out is it a jerky quick cut out or a much smoother and longer cut out. The quicker one represents the coil and the longer one would be fuel. If it has a carburetor then check the fuel line. Is it old and stiff or shows crack lines? Check the fuel filter. if it is fuel injected then the fuel pump could be at fault. You know there are also other things to check. The spark plugs can cause it to cut out under a load. The spark plugs should be the proper ones for this bike. Each plug has a rating and you have heard of being a hotter plug? This just means more or less spark power at the gap. Too much is not as good as too little. But it should be enough to ignite the gas. You can remove the plug and inspect for cleanliness and color. a brownish color is best. White is not good and means it is too lean. Black and it means it is not burning correctly and oily. When you have the plug out ground the threads to the engine and turn your bike over. What does the spark look like? Dark blue is good. Red is ok, light red with a yellowish tint is getting weak and will not be enough to fire the gas at a higher speed. what happens is the faster the speed of the bike the quicker the spark has to develop. If it is a lighter color and it has to fire quickly, the spark would have almost diminished to nothing, but on the other hand if it is dark blue if it has to fire quickly there is still enough uumph to do the job. You see the amount of spark is also determined by the frequency the coil on and off. Well hope this helps you to determine if it is gas or spark problem. If spark its the spark plug, coil or spark plug cable. I have seen the cable where it contacts the spark plug be a problem.
If it is fuel , fuel filter, fuel line, fuel pump, injectors and possibly which I have overlooked, could be other electrical items such as throttle sensor, cam sensor. Not sure what bike you have but this should cover most all of it.

I wanted to no if the bike dos not have a fuel pump could that be the reason y the spark plug line is dead?

Hi and welcome to fixya,

Nope. Its indirectly connected with the plug. The spark plug line's spark is caused by a massive coil. If i were to assume on your problem, disconnect the plugs, connect it to the wire and touch the spark plugs body to the chassis or engine block. Star the bike, it should spark, otherwise there's a problem.

Feel free to send some comments so we could diagnose on your problem.

Hi i have a 2004 suzuki sv1000s an am not getting any fire from the plugs so bike wont start i wanted to no if anyone can tell me how to get the spark plug wire to get live again am not getting any fire...

This requires some troubleshooting, ruling out the coils, triggering mechanism, computer control module and associated wiring. If you were to tackle it yourself, you'll need to buy a service manual. Online at say amazon for example they're reasonable. It's gonna require some expertise.

Dos,nt take gas bake firing

I have the same bike with 8000 miles on it., Alot of bikes backfire especially these with the emissions package. I'm a smog tech and what backfiring means is detanation from a lean condition. The cylinder gets hot on decel and you get the pop. You could go the sabrehood forums and register and talk to people about these bikes.

What I did was put a k/n filter. put a stage 2 jet kit and a cobra slash cut exhaust and this seemed to reduce the amount of backfireing alot.
Bikes loud and maybe a little quietier exhaust would of been better but for now bike runs alot better.
Hope this helps

2004 Honda VTX1300. Won't fire. Thought it might be out of gas, put two gallons in it. Tried to start it with the choke open and closed. Kill switch is on. Any suggestions? Battery is good, lights,...

Have you checked the spark at the spark plugs?
How this is done is take a spare spark plug that is known to be good. Pull the spark plug boot off and install the spare plug in the boot and lay it on part of the engine to get a ground. Know try and start the bike and see if there is any spark coming from the spare plug. Do this to every plug and remember to put the cap back on the plug after you test that plug. If there is spark then that rule out ignition. Now check out the fuel delivery. You say you have a couple gallons of gas in the tank. That's good!
1st check the petcock and make sure that it is not plugged buy removing the fuel line and putting it on PRI setting. This means Priming the carbs or injectors with gas. If that is OK put the line back on and check the fuel filter witch should be under the gas tank and see if it is plugged. 2nd check the fuel pump to see if it is working. How to test this is remove the fuel line from the pump that goes to the carb or injector and turn the bike on but do not try to start. The pump should squirt gas out as you turn the key on. If it checks out OK then it has to be something with the carbs/injectors. Just got to try a process of aliamation. Just remember Air-Fuel-Spark=Bang. Hope this helps out. Please let me know how it works out.
