First you will have to determine if your horn activates by earthing via the horn button or by connecting to positive via the horn button.
Locate the old horn and remove its wires. Connect these wires to the relay on pins 85 and 86. Operate the horn button and the relay should click.
Run a new wire from battery positive to relay pin 30.
Run a new wire from pin 87 to the horn positive.
Run a new wire from horn negative to an earthing point close to the horn or to battery negative and you're done.

What Ah rated battery do I need for a 6 volt or a 12 volt motorcycle horn?

There are no worries about battery size if you are using a motorcycle horn, because a mobility scooter battery is 6 times larger than a motorcycle battery. A motorcycle battery just uses a simple button, but larger car twin horns use a relay. A 12 volt sounder is electronic, so no worries there. You could use a truck reversing sounder. Don't forget that they are not omnidirectional, so they need to be pointing forward.

Replacing stock horn with Bosch.

It's always better to use the relay and fuse so the horn wire in the steering wheel won't melt.

When using a 5 pin relay what wires connect to pins 30,85,86,87 and 87a to run a motor using a switch

85 and 86 are your coil wires. If you are using a standard single pole switch, you can run power to the switch, and back out of the switch to pin 85. Ground Pin 86.

Run main power for the lift motor to pin 30, make sure to fuse this accordingly, no more than a 30amp fuse if this is a standard 30amp SPDT relay.

Run pin 87 to the motor's power input. 87A is not required. This is wiring is just to power the motor in one direction.

2001 lincoln LS horn stopped working

Principles of Operation
When the horn switch is depressed, a message is sent from the instrument cluster via the network communication link to the front electronic module (FEM). The FEM acknowledges the message and energizes the horn relay by grounding the horn relay coil which allows the dual note horn to sound.
Inspection and Verification
NOTE: The FEM and instrument cluster must be reconfigured upon replacement. Refer to Section 418-01 .
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the horn.
  1. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

If the concern remains after the inspection, connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the diagnostic tool menu. If the diagnostic tool does not communicate with the vehicle:
    • check that the program card is correctly installed.
    • check the connections to the vehicle.
    • check the ignition switch position.

Does my vulcan 800 classic have a horn relay from the factory?

If the horn requires more juice you can pick up a relay at most auto or electronic stores, use the horn wires to power the relay and battery power to power the horn.

Hope this is of some help.
