Someone attempted to steal my 1998 Savana Conversion van, I had the steering column replaced and now it still won't stay started, and a security light is on the dash board. Is there a fuel pump reset button on my van that needs to be reset in order for it to start?

Hi, the security system has to learn the new key resistor in the new column. If you try to start it, leave the key on for 10 mins, the security light will go off. Turn the key off, try to start it again, and release the key. The light will come back on again. Wait another 10 mins, intill the light goes out again. (leaving the key on). This has to be done 3 times total of 30 mins. When the light goes out a 3rd time, the vehicle should start, and run. Remember to turn off the headlamps, heater, radio, etc... as they consume power, and you do not want to kill the battery. Good luck...Coop

2000 Venture. Where can I get a replacement steering column and program a new key?

there is more to it than that,if you are covered by insurance, take it to a dealer, otherwise go to a junkyard and get the column, key, key fob and antitheft control unit,it is cheaper than having it programmed at a dealer

I replaced my steering column in my 98' Plymouth

It sounds like it's possibly an incompatability with options between the old and new components. Does your van have the security feature on it? If so, you may need to ensure that your replacement steering column comes from a vehicle that also had the security feature on it. Sounds a bit lame, but these things are so inter-wired with various components that replacing parts without the same options on it simply won't work.

Gmc savana van will stop running while driving or start sputterin

It could be a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. Also try replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires and having the timing checked. Good luck.
