Well,...what brand of tire does it have????. every tire is different, as you maybe know....Look at the tire, the brand should be written on the sidewall, and most tires have the recommended tire pressure written on the tire as well. If you know the brand, then contact the tire manufacturer ( if they are still in business ).
If the tires are Japanese or Chinese, then just ask your local moto shop,...they will kindly recommend the right pressure for you....If all else fails,...buy some modern tires for your bike....1981 was a long time ago!!

How long shoul tyres last on gxs750

Jacqui that would depend on the way you ride and/or the compound of the tyres. Soft compound may be safer if you are a hard rider, middle of the road compound if just ride for pleasure. I got 4000 kms out of a rear tyre on a 1981 Triumph Bonny.

Whats the correct tyre pressure for my 2001 suzuki burgman an 400 also if by chance i had put 4 bar in the tyre by mistake but only had the scooter on the centre stand have i done any harm

Hi, a 1999-2003 suzuki burgman /an 400 using standard tyre sizes 110/90-13 front is 1'75 bar (25psi)
130/70-13 rear is. 2 bar-(29psi) and 2.8 bar (41psi when carrying a passenger) check the tyre for correct seating on the rim, dont think you have done any harm, the only danger inflating small tyres to a high pressure is you risk blowing it off the rim, as you have now corrected it you should be ok with that, paul

Hi i have a 93 dr250 motorbike and i am lossing

Hi !
Just get new washer rings for the 2 bolts.
They have hardened and craked with wear and tear and heat. In high heat and pressure the oil becomes very thin and leaks through the cracked washers.
Your problem will be solved.

Engine oil and tyre pressures

use 10W30W, that is the heaviest oil this engine needs, thicker oils can damage the bearings due to oil starvation, as far as tire pressure goes 30- 32 PSI is best for this little car.

Tyre Pressure

As always, correct pressure depends on the tyre fitted but if it is running with the standard tyres that it had fitted from new then:
Single rider: Front is 1.75 bar (25 PSI) Rear 2.0 (29 PSI)
Fully loaded (Panniers and or pillion passenger) Front 2.0 bar (29 PSI) Rear 2.25 bar (32 PSI)

These settings from the book for a 2006 model, though I imagine that they apply to all with very little if any variation
