Here is a schematic, parts list, and prices for your 2004 VL 1500. Friction disks wear out and have to be replaced at regular intervals. Clutch slipping is almost always remedied by replacement of the friction disks.

Bearing noise in rear of motor when idling and in gear 98 Suzuki 1500 intruder

Most likely it' s the clutch. Does it change when you engage and disengage the clutch? If so it is normal to hear a little bearing type noise from the clutch area when idling on wet clutch systems.

Loosing torque when engine heats up..... feels like clutch is not engaging even though in gear. Bike runs fine for the first 10 minutes or so, but as soon as engine oil heats up, bike is no longer...

possible not enough clutch free play
engine oil is not used in the clutch assembly
it is a special clutch/ transmission oil
wrong oil will cause the clutch plates to slip

How to adjust clutch 1998 Suzuki VL 1500 intruder LC

The clutch on this model is hydraulic and is 'self adjusting", if the clutch is slipping the plates are worn out and in need of replacement. This information comes directly from the factory service manual.

Bike won't start, '99 1500 Intruder; changed the battery but it won't turn over, just whirs - help please

There appears to be a problem with the starter .. New battery, 'whir' sound when you press the start button ... I suspect the gear is not engaging. Remove the starter if you can ... Otherwise, this might be a job for the shop.
