I have a motorhome on an Iveco Daily 50C 18 chassis 2006. The factory fitted trailer 13 pin socket is dead. I have checked all the fuses and cable, and even spoken to Iveco on the phone on what to check with no joy. The loom runs from the socket, forward to under the bonnet, where I suspect it goes into some sort of ECU. I am unable to find any wiring diagram, so don't know where or what I'm looking for. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards, John.

That harness should originate from a plastic relay and fuse box, under the hood close to the battery. check every thing in that box. It should have the fuse layout printed on the cover to the box

Also do not mess with the ECU for that motor home. It is very expensive and rarely goes bad.

pin 1 yellow left indicator
pin 2 blue, rear fog light
pin 3 white earth
pin 4 green right indicator
pin 5 brown right side/tail light
pin 6 red brake lights
pin 7 black left side/tail light

Grey socket grey 7 core wiring
pin 1 yellow, reverse
pin 2 blue, supplementary feed (ignition)
pin 3 white, earth
pin 4 green live feed (battery +)
pin 5 brown not connected
pin 6 red supplementary feed (ignition)
Pin 7 black earth

On the discovery there is a purpose made plug behind the panel on the drivers side rear, behind the rear lamp
i think the relay you have bought is for lamp failure you just need a normal 4 pin 30 amp relay.
Good luck Davelee

SOURCE: Tow bar trailer socket wiring connection point to car wiring?

The connectors for towing wire harnesses on foresters are generally on the passenger side, below the rear taillight inside the cargo space. some require pulling up the foam block that is between the spare tire compartment and the taillight. Check where you replace the tailights from inside the car, if there isn't a matching connector hanging out there, check around the spare tire compartment, see if you can remove the carpeted foam block next to the compartment and find the plug under there.

Trailer running lights Fuse

Go to Autozone.com and register your truck for FREE. Then you can get access to Chassis wiring diagrams and fusebox layouts. The plastic cover on your trailer plug will have the id for each pin in the plug.

The factory chassis diagram should show the fuse providing power to the individual post on the plug.

I have a 2008 Ford F 150 with factory installed trailer wiring. I bought a trailer plug tester. It shows the tail light function to be dead. Brake lights, turn signals all work. Any ideas?

The trailer tow adapter parking lamps is fuse #10 in the cab fuse panel. There is also a trailer tow parking lamp relay that powers them, which could have a problem as well.
Start with the fuse, and maybe check both the 7 pin and the 4 pin for the parking lamps, could be a corroded pin on one of them causing the tester to not see the power on the pin.

Wiring diagram

If you are going from a 4 pin on your trailer to the 7 pin on the truck. You need to go to parts store or a department store (ex Wal Mart) and look in trailer section and find the adapter. Thats what I did. Also Remember if your lights don't work on trailer, check the plug to make sure its tight or check the fuse under your drivers side rear seat for that fuse box.
