If you look under the carburetor rack you will see an oversize screw hanging down. When you turn that screw it will raise or lower your idle by adjusting all the carburetors at the same time. It is part number 34 on the microfiche carburetor page. You can view the diagram at bikebandit.com.

I have a 1990 jeep wrangler yj . 4.2 with a used weber carb 36/32 . it stalls at a stop sign . the vacume lines seam to be hooked up ok the back port above the throttle is caped off the idle mixture s

The idle mixture screws do not control the idle. Is there no idle screw? If you have an anti-dieseling solenoid on the idle screw, make sure it is coming on with the ignition switch and use it to adjust the idle. Set the idle and then adjust the misture screws to maximize intake vacuum at idle. Readjust the idle after adjusting the idle mixture. The port at the back of the carb is not used in all systems. If you have a distributor with vacuum advance, make sure the correct carb post is connected to the distribtor. Adjust the choke and fast idle to engage when the engine is cold.

I have a yamaha xj650 maxim which was a project of mine and it will not idle below 2500 rpms. There have been many add ons though 4 to 1 exhaust free flow air filters clean carbs added stage 3 dyno jet kit...

I would recommend adjusting the idle screw on the carb. If it is not the idle adjustment, then check the choke as it may be sticking and that will cause the engine to idle at that rate.

1984 yz 125 power valve how do i set it

You don't have to do anything It does it on its own as long as the pieces are all there. The power valve is the thing that opens up a larger exhaust hole for the two stroke engine. It is shaped like a spool and it twists as pressure builds due to high rpm. On the 1984 it is on the left side of the bike right up front behind the clutch cover.

Engine cuts out with clutch engaged.

idle adjust?
there SHOULD be an adjuster under the seat or gastank within easy reach. Clockwise to increase rpm, ccl to decrease rpm. idle around 1400rpm when engine is at normal operating temp. Good luck!
