My cigg lighter on my 02 electra glide wont light the burner but will charge i-pod,cell phone etc how do i fix this i want my cigg lighter back

Yeah, I would say that. Since it melted. Check years, because not all grandams are a like. Year specific. Meaning you can't pull it out of an 2002.(it wont work) only a 2000.

there is two sets of fuses on this car i think. The centre console lights are on fuses inside the car under the dash, is your interior light not working either?

Friend had a similiar problem. Check your fuses under the seat.

You will need to order a smokers package from a chevy dealer. It will consist of an ashtray & cigg lighter. The car is prewired for cigg lighter, the pigtail will be located near where the ashtray is mounted. You will also have to install fuse in fuse panel marked cigg.

Sounds like your charging system is not charging the battery.

Put a volt meter on the battery, run the engine up to maybe 2,000 RPM. The voltage must be at least 13.8V, but not more than 14.5.

If that is all OK, your battery is worn out, and is not holding sufficient reserve. It would need to be replaced.

Sounds like bad brake light swich/sending unit.The one attached to master cyclinder.What happens to fuse if you turn ign. on,don't start engine,and hit brakes?Should bow fuse if switch is bad.

Try checking the fuse inside the charger. Ths may be blown. Have you tried another charger in its place ex. cell phone or radar detector? If works for the cig lighter should charge.

Voltage regulator will not allow enough current to the lighter to charge sophisticated electronics. Install a 12v outlet directly to the battery or re wire your lighter to connect the positive directly to the battery.

it sounds like you blow up a fuse,check your fuse box,
check your manuel for locations
