    I replaced the 2 IC's and still had the same problem. Wonder what it could be now?

Hi 3 blinks on panasonic is the conversion ics. very common repair for projectors. you need to replace two ics on mother board. The cost of the repair from a tv shop is 250,00.

At least now you Dont have to pay a service center to come out and diagnose
Just give them your model number and they can look up the parts. The job take 1 hour to do or so.

Panasonic PT-53TWD63, TV will not turn on, Red power light blinks
It is most deffinately a convergence chip issue. The die for no reason. They can be bought online for around $10 dollars and anyone with experience with soldering can replace them pretty easily. I have done it.

The 3 blinks is a error code for the convergence circuit. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at the following link which contains both Convergence ICs and all six feed resistors and they include step by step instructions with pictures that show how to do the repair yourself. I need to identify the parameters (rating) of a resistor for a Panasonic PT53WX53G projector big screen tv. It got hot so I can not see the color codes on it. This resistor glows red when TV is turned...
The resistor you see is a 2.2 ohm 2 watt resistor and is part of the convergence circuitry. I would replace R7011. 7012, 7013, 7014, 7015 & 7016 (all the same value) and the 2 STK392-110 Convergence ICs. This should fix your problem. You can find kits on-line for around $45 with the IC's and resistors together.

Resistor identification
Hi fccjben;

The color code is as follows: blk = 0; brn =1; red = 2; orange = 3; yellow = 4; Green = 5: blue = 6; violet=7; Grey = 8; white = 9

Unfortunately, if it is wirewound, they usually printed the resistor value on the body of the resistor. For sure it shouldn't be glowing. Sorry I can't be more help, but without a schematid, can't do much else
