Hi

this is may be the sensor which read the speed of the bike may be damaged.try changing the sensor.
2.if stil problem presists then check the cable which transmitts the signal to the speedo meter. this may be damaged so replace the wire.
3.if stil the problem presists then the problem is with speedo meter only. so change the speedo meter

I have a 1999 fxstc. the speedometer stopped working. Also the turn signals work but have to be turned off manually. The engine is an 80 cubic inch.

On the Softail speedometer there is a reed switch that turns the turn signals off. If you don't have any power to the speedo, the reed switch won't work. Try to find out whether or not you have power to the speedo.

I have a 1998 FLSTF...The speedo doesn't work and the Turn signal cancelling doesn't work..I replaced the cable to the transmission...but still doesnt work. Can u tell me what i need to do to chk the...

I have a trouble shooting chart for the self-cancelling turn signal module but it's much to much to type in here. Contact me directly at [email protected] and I'll e-mail you a scanned copy. I don't think the '98 model Fat Boys use fuses, they use circuit breakers. Seems there is a reed switch in the speedo that turns off the turn signals. Remind me of what you want as I get lots of request and I can't remember who wants what.

Speedo and abs light on bmw 5 series

hello , it sounds like you have a bad speed sensor or all 4 of them , see when the speedo plays dead like that is because (most cases ) the sensors at the wheels are bad due to water and normal driving corrosion , the data for the speedo comes from the abs module that monitors the sensors if the abs does not reed it the speedo will not reed it aswell , it will be good to scan the vehicle to see if you need more than 1 sensor there is one in each tire axel ,good luck

Speedometer goes to 0 and trans downshifts

There are 2 speed sensors on the transaxle. One is for vehicle speed and one is for trans output shaft speed. My guess is that you replaced the one for output shaft speed.
