Kawasaki Kit ECU on '07 ZX-6R race bike

The red FI light has started flashing on my race bike. Engine intermittently and suddenly cuts power then idles on maintenance throttle. Occurs intermittently all through the rev range.

Turn engine off, wait until the next session and it works perfectly. Bike was working perfectly until we rebuilt it after a wreck. What did we do? Using Leo Vince exhaust and VP 110 race fuel. Have not been able to pull codes.

SOURCE: rough running kawasaki

you need to let it warm up before beating on it. inline 4s are always cranky when cold. another issue could be dirty carbs and clogged carb jets causeing it to run extreemly lean, rev high and die out. pulling 4 carbs isnt "fun" but you could do it in an afternoon.

Hi im having problems with my 1995 kawasaki ninja zx-6r,my battery is brand new and after riding for a while my bike just dies out and when i try to start it back up the battery is drained

hello carl...sounds like you might have a charging system problem. If you have a volt meter you can check it out. You can test at the battery. With the meter leads, red on positive, black on negative, you should have 13.5-14.5 volts direct current with engine at 3500 RPM. I hope this helps.

It's not F1, it's FI and it's a Fuel Injection problem. Can't help more than that but i'm sure your dealer can

I am a amateur mechanic working on a kawasaki zx6r 07 race bike any advice for me that might help me along in the future

  • Get a service manual.
  • Don't mess with the jetting.
  • Don't use synthetic oils or oils with "special" additives.
  • Use only premium gas.
  • Learn about motorcycle electrics and how they work.
  • Don't fix an engine if it ain't broken.
  • Said another way, don't tinker with it until it is broken.
  • Said another way and with a bit different meaning, Tinker with it until you break it and have to fix it.

    Bike wont run

this is very rare. if the engine kill switch is in the same grip, check it , it may be shorting/ loose/ defective. only other possible thing is the starter relay switch

Do you have an owners manual ? If not get one from your dealer, it' an invaluable tool....is your oil level so low your settin off a warning and the computer is smart enough not to let you start a dry engine ? There are troubleshooting tips in the manual....otherwise get it to your dealer, that bike is too new to be having unwarranted problems....Good Luck to you friend...Tim
