2006 dodge durange wont start tried to recharge

Battery may be bad. Try a jump start. If the engine light is staying on, have the computer scanned and post the trouble codes here.

FUSES FIRST. Try to obtain a scan tool and pull any codes. Then possibly- computer may not be receiving a signal from a sensor and therefore won't start. I would check the 5vdc voltage to and from the crank sensor and the camshaft sensor and the pick-up coil sensors. These three sensors have high failure rates. Free testing of these units is available at local parts stores for the DIY. If OK, I would continue with an Elect Diagram and follow the voltage to other componets. Good Luck.

Start by cleaning battery terminals try to start if headlights are bright and nothing check the starter relay by the fuses stick the same type from another circuit or a spare one where it says spare. Try to start if the lights are bright hit the starter with a hammer a few times while someone has the key turned if it starts you need a new starter. If lights go out recharge battery or replace battery

Battery or alternator? is probably the problem......try jumping it and if it still dies replace alternator...but dont forget to check all wires coming from battery and cleaning them....

Give the battery 15 min to recharge before you try to start the engine. The battery is to far gone and drawing to much from the others car charging system, so give it time and then try again. Your going to most likely going to need to repalce the battery, once you turn your car off. A battery that far gone will not hold a charge and will burn out your alternator, causing you more work and money to replace the alternator along with the battery.
