you can get one cheap from a junkyard for same year and the colors will match for the wires.
if you know how to solder that is a help, will give you the best connection.
i am not sure if the dealerships carry the pigtails anymore for a 1996

check the fuses, there may be one in the deck itself, if those are all good then make sure there is power going to the deck and that all the wires are hooked up correctly "they will be color coated", if it still doesnt work then you will need to buy another deck...do not throw away your old wiring harness it is nessesarry to install the new stereo

Well, this depends on how easily you want the job. If you want it quick and easy, go to ANY best buy, sears, or car audio place and ask them for the appropriate wiring harness. A wiring harness is a pre-wired "Modual" that Links up with your car's current wiring modual. These are a WHOPPING 12-15 dollars. These piddly price can literally save you 1-3 hours of needless work. IF your just bent on saving that 12 bucks... and wanna solder ALL those wires together one by one and do all teh matching, etc, the first place to look would be the wires on the back of the Stereo unit. Most stereo output wires are labled in small print. Then find a manual for your car , year , make and model, and see what the stock wiring is... simply match em up and solder em together.

a wrench to unhook the battery first.

a socket set to remove the two or three bolts that hold the starter on.

small sockets to remove the wires from the old starter and put them on the new one. then reverse to reinstall it.

don't remove the wires from the old starter till you have the new one there to prevent hooking up the wires wrong.

you dont need a wiring diagram for the radio. all the wires with the new radio and the stock one will match in color. you just gotta get a wiring harness and a dash kig

are you talking about the wires that connect the car harness to the gauge cluster with the 2 big plugs?
