Here's S&S's manual for the Shorty Carbs (both E & G):

On page "10", it states, "Slip fuel overflow hose onto fitting on carb bowl and neatly route behind pushrod tubes. On a big twin model, hose should go toward back
of engine. On a Harley-Davidson Sportster model, hose should go toward front of engine. Exit end of overflow hose must extend down
below engine and away from exhaust pipes."

This is the only "vent" hose (actually, a fuel overflow hose) that I know of.

My activa some times its stopping fuel is not comming to carborator after waiting 10 to 15 minutes again it will start why

How do you know fuel is not coming into the carb? Have you removed the fuel inlet pipe into the carb and checked?
1. If yes, i.e. actually fuel flow is stopping into the carb, sometimes, then your vacuum petcock(the contraption just below the fuel tank- which allows fuel to flow into the carb)is malfunctioning due to a leak in the vacuum pipe( the pipe which goes from the vacuum petcock into the engine inlet manifold).
2. If NO, i.e. fuel flow into the carb is NOT stopping - then get your carb cleaned, especially the jets - both main & idle. Hope it helps.

1974harley with a super B carb it spits two or three times on a ten mile run, some times when you come to stop. it is a 1974 super glide

My first inclination is tell you that it is probably jetted too lean. The low speed jet should be a number 29.5 or a 31. The main should be a 72 in most cases. Your bike may require a step up or down from these jet sizes as I don't know what kind of exhaust or other modifications your bike has nor the location (altitude) you are at. This is a common complaint with the Super "B". The biggest reason for this is that the Super "B" carb did not have an accelerator pump on it. This means that when you rev the engine, you create a momentary lean condition before the vacuum signal can start to draw fuel from the main jet circuit. Go to S&S's site and download the installation instruction for your Super "B" carb, file 51-1006. Even though they have stopped production of this model, the instructions are still posted online. The Super "E" carburetor was designed to replace the "B" model. The "E" is called the "Shorty" because it is much shorter and does not stick out as far as the "B" model. It also has an accelerator pump that smoothes out the transisition between the idle-low speed circuit and the high speed circuit. Also, check your plugs, plug wires (especially the spark plug boots and the end that plugs into the coil) and the points. You may be getting a misfire or a weak spark.

Need fuel and vacuum line info

there should only 2 lines from the fuel tap, one for fuel, and the other for vacume, the smaller diameter hose is the vacume, and the larger hose is fuel. fuel hose will go to carby, and the vacume hose to the carby inlet manifold.

It sounds like you may have or will be jetting your carbs. I did this using the directions with the kit and used the Clyman manual for this bike to show me step by step how to remove the carborator. You will only need to attach 2 of the 4 hoses on your carb. syncronizer. If I remember right, you need to remove the bolt-on cooling fins to expose the engine block. The is a black screw or bolt that you take out and screw the threaded metal adapter of the sync tool. Be careful using the sync tool. Be very light on the throttle or the vacuum in the cylinder will **** in the mercury from the sync tool - not good. The problem you are stating on idle & backing off sometimes happens when the carbs are running rich (too much fuel) Hope that gets you in the right direction.

I too, need a vacuum hose diagram but for a 86 Honda Civic 1.5 (carb). I need to overhaul the carb and also want to see if I can eliminate some of the many vacuum hoses on this thing. They can't all be necessary to make this thing run?????......

Carborator and vacum hose confustion

1990 i believe had throttle body fuel injection NOT a carb. I can send you information but check the fuses and make sure they are all good I believe the fuel pump fuse is 20amp (yellow fuse) located under the plastic cover on the passenger side of the firewall be careful there are many electric connections there the fuel pump fuse is in a small inline holder
if you find this information helpful please rate me accordingly and let me know if you would like a diaggram of the electric schematic for the fuel pump on the truck and vacuum diagram.
