SOURCE: 1985 Yamaha xj700 Maxim- Carb. fuel lines

yes, the breather line hooks to the petcock on the line facing the back, the fuel line hooks to the larger one. the line from the breather is actually a vacume line that turns on the fuel, without it you will not get fuel out of the petcock unless it is in the prime position.

SOURCE: what position on the petcock is on off or res on a

There is no OFF, you have RES toward front , ON is all the way down, and prime toward back, PRI is used when it has been sitting for awhile. RES and ON wont let gas out unless bike is runnig. There is a vac hose on back of petcock that lets ON and RES work it must be connected..

Lt-f250x fuel vale has on- res-pri what is the pri position for

( PRI ) is the primer position for the petcock ( fuel valve) . This position is used for a couple of reason. this kind of valve works off vacuuum from the carbs, but if you run out of fuel you or remove the tank you can't create vacuum, so putting the valve into the PRI position allows fuel to flow inton the carbs without vacuum so you can start the bike. Once the bike has started you should switch the valve back to the ON position ON= normal position, PRI= primer position, RES= reserve postion. I hope this helps!!!

What is the off position for the petcock in the vstar 250? I only see ON, PRI, and RES. I just got the bike from someone else and I know that you are supposed to turn the petcock to the off position when...

up (res) is reserve, down(on) is primary, center(marked as pri is for prime, used for if ran out of fuel or drained the carb or been sitting for a long time). There is no off as the fuel system is vacuum fed instead of greavity)

The fuel wont go through the lines to get it started

You're bike may be equipped with a vacuum operated petcock. See if the fuel valve has a "prime" position on it. If so, put it in this position. If you still don't get any fuel to the carb, you'll have to remove the petcock from the tank and clean the screen or unstop the petcock. I'd put a manual petcock in and block the vacuum line.

If you already have a manual petcock and you're not getting fuel, remove the petcock, clean the screen, and blow air through the petcock in both the "On" postition and the "Res" position.

94 yamaha fzr 600. only firing on 1 an 2 cyl

No one thing controls those items.
The ignition and headlight circuits
each have their own fuses under the seat.

If you have power to both of the coil sets
then the coil for cylinder 3 and 4
might be faulty.

Lights may just have a blown fuse.

You have more than one problem
going on there.

Where does the fuel switch need to be on a 1994 suzuki katana

i'm assuming you are talking about the petcock it should be pointed down to on PRI is prime and should only be used briefly to refill carbs after running out of fuel. res is for when you run low you don't wanna use res all the time cuz when you run out you're out and have no real warning although the kat does have a fuel guage it is still sucking all the crud off the bottom of the tank

89 fzr 1000 fuel pump problem

It seems likely that your fuel pump is not operating, you should hear the fuel pump priming when you turn on the ignition, if not the fuel pump is at fault, this is not uncommon and a replacement is the answer.
