I have an oil leak from somewhere up behind the exhaust pipe left side two cylinders. Bike was sitting for 3 yrs but motor sounds good
SOURCE: 1979 suski 750,bike runs on 2 left side cylinders,
if you smell the gas it's because it hasn't burned which means you don't have enough air or you don't have spark but if you don't have air the plugs will faul so you cannot have spark and must start there.
try removing the plugs and cleaning them then reset the gaps and plug them on the wires you can then hold the plug (using something non-conductive) against the frame or metal engine housing WARNING: keep clear of the spark plug hole when testing I have had an accident like that before also keep your face clear because the spark can ignite the gasses leaving the cylinder and will. Now start the bike and you should see the spark plug ark if not the problem is more likely than not in the coil pack for those two plugs but you can check that by swapping the coil packs if you still don't get spark check the points or cdi system
If you do get spark place the spark plugs back in and hold the throttle all the way down and press the starter till the bike starts if the plugs foul again the problem is in the carbs and you should double check the rebuild
SOURCE: need help to connect fuel lines 82 suzuki gs 750
the solution is very simple
there are 2 nipples underneath the petrol tank
the upper nippel should be conected to the venturi nipple because this on opens the valve (can try by light sucking on it)
the second ore lower nippel should be conected to the carbs there is a conection in the middle of the four carb's
please be sur you use fresh petrol and clean the carbs (using compressed air)
when you try without cleaning filter it wil run but not wen you open the trottle (it's because of the vacuum carb's they need the veturi that is placed in the air filter compartment)
lots of suc 6
SOURCE: how do you set the points on a 1978 gs 750 suzuki
Two types of points were used on that bike. The ND system (condensers one on top of another) and the KOKUSAN system ( condensers left and right side by side). When ordering parts it will be important to know which system you have. All but one model use the ND system so I will assume you have the ND system.
Go to the site below where you can see a parts diagram for your specific bike. You will select the actual brand, year, model, etc., once you go to the site. Part numbers and prices are also shown. You can order parts from this site.

I could describe how to set the points and timing but it would be better if you had a factory service manual with photos and diagrams. Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual.
http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp
It is a 86meg file. It took me about 8 minutes to download. The manual is actually for a 1976 bike but the timing and 95% of all else is the same for the 1998 bike. You now have more information on your bike than you will likely ever need. I suggest you take the file to Kinkos or a similar store and get a two sided printout of the file, 186 pages, 93 sheets. Have them 3 hole drill the sheets and then you can put the sheets in a 3 ring binder for easy reference.
Please consider a top rating on this solution. Thanks
SOURCE: i need to get new fork seals and cant find out
Go to this site and you can download a free PDF service manual. There is a '76 manual there. It is close enough to your '78 to be extremely helpful as not much of anything changed in those two years. The listing just says "Suzuki GS750 ". Page 90 has a diagram. Page 93 says to mix 50/50 10w30 motor oil and standard ATF (automatic transmission fliuid) for the fork oil. You do not need to tear down the forks to install a new seal and the seal can be installed without the special tool.
