SOURCE: bike only fires once

Okay, let's have a look at it. Say Ahaaa.
The probable cause of the problem is not the spark. Get a fresh set of Stock NGK spark plugs, ground the plus to the engine, and check each cylinder for spark as the starter button is pressed for 3 seconds or so. I will wager that the spark is present.

The likely problem is the fresh gas was put into a very rusty gas tank. Bits of rust now inhabit your carb and are having fun plugging up the carb. Look at the gas valve. With a little luck there is a small bowl behind the valve. Remove it and tell me what you see in the bowl.

SOURCE: 04 crf450.hard start when cold(25deg).kick for 10min.once it

1. First thing is when was the last time you had your valves adjusted
2. On cold start up twist about 15 times on your throttle, as you do that the accelerator pump in carb will shot gas in cylinder, I have a 2003 yx426 & 2005 yz450 have to do to both of them when cold out to get started

SOURCE: i have a offroad dtr

Check the wiring exiting the crankcase up to the rectifier/CDI unit and ignition coil. Look for excessive squashing, pinched or burnt (very stiff) wiring. Check all connections are firm and free of corrosion. Ensure plug lead is not arcing to frame or engine when in place. Make sure ingition coil is FIRMLY earthed at mounting point. A good tip is to run an earth wire from the head bolt to the frame. Thoroughly check any "kill switch" wiring as moving handlebars, throttle cable etc whilst kicking over may interupt electrical circuit. It is common for wiring to eventually get caught up in the steering "stops" on the lower fork clamps, cutting or severely damaging wiring. The wires exiting the crankcase come from the generator and without a rotor puller they will remain unsighted behind the generator rotor. You can easily remove the cover however, and check grommet where loom enters for pinched or flattened wires.
Check the site below (scroll down for your Model/Year) It has exploded view diagrams of all the pertinent parts to see your bike going again. Cheers.

SOURCE: '97 rstd cold start, full choke,, cyl 3&4 do

low milage tells me most likley the carb is gummed up. You may need to remove and clean out or try some fuel injection cleaner. Use twice as strong as recommended. Your description points to not enough fuel when cold which is when it needs the most. If your handy I would remove the bowl and blow out all chambers and tubes with brake cleaner.

2009 chevy cobalt has no fire going to it and wont start anti lock

fire= spark? to get fire one needs 3 things
  • good engine.'
  • good spark and
  • good fueling rates, AFR, air fuel ratio, proper.
then fire happens. (burning the fuel)= fire.
anti lock <<< why say this? or is just side comment on ABS brakes present and expected.

a tech will check for SPARK on all spark plugs not just one.
no engine told..
2.0, 2.2 or 2.4 engine.
ill answer for 1, the 2.4.
has 4 coils , if all 4 are dead, spark tested fuse marked INJ is blown
fuse underhood, and 15amps.
if not blown and all 4 HV coils are dead.
we then check all fuses and if all good we next
all 3engines are cam chain drive, and can go 300k miles servicing engine oil correctly.

barrow a scan tool
scan the PCm
connect it
and crank for 5 seocnds
release key not off and scan again, in say 1 minutes delay
see DTC errors POP.
P03xx error are why.

GOOD LUCK..

Rm 250 wont start off kick

Don't know if it is water cooled or not, but it sounds like you may have a problem with oil or water getting into the combustion chamber and fouling the spark plugs. Kicking doesn't produce the amount of rpm that you need to fire up a weakly firing plug. I'd check the plugs condition first and replace if needed, and then figure out why its smoking.

1999 chevy k2500. changed spark plugs 4 times in 7 months. Runs good for a week then doesn't start. Changed spider, throttle body sensor. Still has no codes and once again won't start.

The next time it won't start ,pull a sparkplug wire and see if you're getting fire. Then we'll known whether its a ignition or fuel problem and go from there.

Dont know how to start my honda cb 350

First- turn on the gas. wait for it to get to the carb. Next switch on- close the choke, give 1/4 throttle, Kick it - if it's a no start after about 4 kicks - open the choke and give 1/2 throttle and close the gas.(your flooded)- 4 more kicks and check the spark plug for wet fuel or dry. If dry- dip the business of the plug in fuel and try again. Still no start- replace the plug.

If all that fails- you can disconnect the ignition switch and that will separate the wiring from the ignition- be careful here because you can not shut it off with the switch it can be killed with the choke or pull off the ignition wire to the spark plug.

Still no start, do a compression test as it needs at least 80# to fire.

Hard starting at times when hot excessive cranking engine will kick back the next time it will start perfect

This happens when the engine trys to fire on the first "upstroke' of the pistons before those big flywheels get to spinning. This is common on stock ignition systems as far as I know. Harley may have changed the systems and I might not know about it but I doubt it. Some aftermarket systems, such as the Crane HI-4 have a spark delay system. The plugs will not fire until the engine has turned over three times. This gets those flywheels spinning and eliminates the start up kick back.

good luck

Dryer wont get hot in the am i try it it will wrk for one load then wont get hot same thing for 4 days now

I have a Whirlpool dryer with LP gas, 7 1/2 years old. It will fire up once or twice after started then the next time it is supposed to fire it will make a buzzing sound. No heat. It will not produce heat after this until it sits for awhile then the same thing, will fire once or twice then no more. I replaced the ignitor and this did not solve the problem although it did have a consistent firing for about 3 minutes immediately after I replaced the part. then it started buzzing again and would not fire anymore. The propane line doesn't appear to be the problem either since it will work initially. Also the gas water heater in the house works fine.
