It will not start it wont crank over the security light is flashing can i bypass it

OK. Turn on the key, let the light start flashing. Leave the key in the ON position. Leave it that way for 10 minutes. The VATS security is supposed to discourage a thief from stealing your car. It will flash for 10 minutes and then it will stop flashing. Now,,,,,, DO NOT turn off the key. DO NOT turn it off. Simply take ahold of the key and crank the car up. It will start and should never happen again, unless someone removes the instrument cluster, the battery, or other vital items like the ECM PCU. Good luck.

That the baril in the stering culummits not cheap other option get a car starter intall they bypass that alarm its cheaper to do that then changing the part in the stering culuum

Depending on the make model and year, did you have a key cut to match the new lock cylinder and the old key chip ?

Is it just not cranking/starting with the security light flashing? If so turn the key to the on position & leave it on for about 10 minutes or until the security light stops flashing. Then turn the key off for a second then try starting the truck. If this works check into bypassing the body control module with a resistor. Hope this helps.

Your VATS security system is failing. Quick fix, turn key forward 2 clicks till right before it starts. Leave it for 10 minutes. (no less) turn back key and then start again. should be fine. Getting these fixed is about 800 bucks. They sell a bypass for 200 online. I did the "10 minute trick" for over a year, till finally the Computer went. I ended up doing the 200 dollar bypass. Works great, no worries.

If it is flashing it probably is killing the engine .

Pass key is the security system which disables the car if it is stolen. You need the remote or a key with a chip to start the car. go to a dealer, prove ownership with registration and they will be able to help you out

these cars have a antitheft system that will shut down fuel and crank. be sure to check to see if after the car ignition is on for 30 seconds and look to see if there is a security light on in the dash. if so then turn to crank if security light flashes your problem is that the chip in your key is not being transfered to the security module, so starter will not work. you will have to replace the pickup in the cylinder or bypass the security with proper resister
