I have a kx85 engine i need to know what year it is so i can get a new crankshaft for it . Engine number is KX085CE009452 . Any help would be appreciated.

Based on the engine number (KX085CE009452), it appears that your KX85 engine is a 2000 model year. Here's how we can break down the code:
KX: Identifies the model as a Kawasaki KX dirt bike.
085: Indicates the engine displacement as 85cc.
C: Represents the year code, with "C" corresponding to 2000.
E: Denotes the engine type (not applicable for determining the year).
009452: Serial number specific to your individual engine.
Therefore, you should be looking for a crankshaft compatible with a 2000 Kawasaki KX85 engine when searching for a replacement.
Search online parts databases: Several online platforms allow you to search for parts using the engine number and filter by year. However, double-check the information with a reliable source before purchasing.

Will a 2005 zx12r engine fit on a 1999 zx12r frame

The engine will fit in the frame but the head support will not bolt up. The timing is also very different on these two years. The heads would have to be switched, including the cams, so unless you are a seasoned mechanic I think you should avoid this one.

I have an oil leak coming from the bottom of the clutch cover which i've had for some time now, nobody seems to know what's causing it not even kawasaki!?! now i've noticed thers's oil coming from the...

Im not to familer with te zx12r, but if you are springing oil leaks it could be down to over pressure in the crankcase/engine. Check all your breather hoses are not obstructed or kinked (normally a large diameter rubber hose that goes from the engine to the airbox.
I am guessing you have already changed the cluch cover gasket? Im afraid they will need changing if you want an oil tight engine.
