Runs fine till warm. when at temperature it stalls when holding brake. in neutral and park, it runs great. as soon as put into gear, it stalls. it drives fine, just when you come to a stop sign or stop light it dies. it's not the gas. used gas from several stations. saw a couple posts like this one already, no good answers.

Check the ECM grounds, they are under the passenger side kick panel. When the engine goes to warm status, the Oxygen sensors come on, If there is no ground on the ECM then it starts pulling ground voltage across the sensors and that causes big issues.
gear, is this a Manual trans? or AUTO you said gear.
what gear, please name the gear, 1,2,3,4,5 R
or PRNDL ( a/t box auto matic) what shift lever selection?
what is out door air temp, you do know brakes can get wet and freeze right?
it wont go you meant? until brakes are touched, key word won't?
ok engine only starts in PRNDL set to N??
is that it?
and then when you shift to D, the car will not move
what about the other gears.? try them all yet?
my guess (wild) is that you dont know how park lock out works.?
that you must hold the brake pedal down to shift to park or neutral.
is that it? (read operators guide?)
my guess is car is not drive-able. key point1 (a dead car)
point 2, engine starts and runs. and races on demand with gas foot.
point 3, im lost. (no trans stated or clear symptoms.)
my jeep has 6speed manual box
and the clutch allows me to start car.
on Automatics trans must be in park or neutral to crank engine.
"it will go till i touch brakes"
I read that 10 times,
my 2nd guess. the engine stalls ?
IS THAT IT, stalls means engine RPM is 0
and right foot actions are dead.
and all dash lamps glow, telling you STALL is now.
If the vehicle is an manual gearbox, hold the clutch in until the engine has taken properly. If it is a manual rather start i neutral with the park brake on than in Park. Once the engine has started, let it idle for a minute or so before driving off slowly. Until the temperature gauge has at least reached the 1/4 mark, try keep engine revs below about 2500. All the while keep an eye on the temperature gauge, if it rises very sharply and the fan does not come on, there is a possibility that the radiator is frozen and the engine will boil and burst a hose. If the temperature does rise suddenly, stop and carefully feel if the radiator is still cold. If it is, shut off the engine and wait till the radiator has thawed. This will take a while but can be hastened by starting the engine for a few minutes to warm the engine compartment to help thaw the radiator. When water is circulating freely, you should see a sudden drop in temperature. Do not rev the engine too much, the incoming water will be ice cold and could crack something. This is not something that occurs often, especially if you try park the car where air cannot readily blow through the radiator overnight.
the engine tickover is too slow when the engine is cold its running on cold start, ie:choke,, after it warms up the engine slows down this is what is causing it to stall in gear,, get some one to hold the brakes hard on and with the engine running in gear ajust the tick over till its reving at 750 - 850 rpm the revs will go up a bit when its out of gear,, before you pick a gear to go into push the foot brake down to stop the car lurching,,,
it sounds like the motor's tick over is far to slow when the car is put in gear if the tick over is say 750 rpm out of gear then it stalls when you put it in gear lift the tick over up to say 850 rpm the best way to set this up is have a friend sit in the car, warm the motor up, then get your friend to hold the foot brake hard on and put the car in gear, if it stalls bring the tick over up (in gear) till it dont stall,,,but hold the brakes hard on when your doing this,,,getting run over is not a nice thing to hapen to you and it wont make your day? you should feel a dit of a thump when you plop it into gear so hold the foot brake down when you do plop it in gear every time you do so, it saves the transmishion getting a thumping, all the things you have done to your car so far have only done it good, but why not change the oil and filter as well and know you have done the full monty on your car, and it wont need another service for another year or so?????
check engine coolant temperature when it gets warmer, or at operating temperature, and verify that the temperature gauge is showing warmed up to operating temperature. If the coolant temperature sensor tells the computer the engine is cold it will over fuel and miss and the engine will die. When cooled down it will run fine until it warms up. Also could be coil if it starts missing after warmed up.
probly o2 sensor, cus when cold the computer does not take into account what the o2 sensor is relaying, but when it is hot it does, try unplugging it when hot and see how it runs, it will run rich but should run ok, if it does its the o2 sensor
Sounds like a bad IAC (idle air control valve/sensor) that controls your idle when going from throttle to idle. If bad your idle will act crazy and can cause stalls easily. Pretty sure that's it.
Was bad egr valve. had leak in diaphram.
