SOURCE: Engine compression for 2002 125 CR Honda, 125lbs?

that sounds pretty decent, it is 7 years old so there will be less compression now than when new, obviously beacuse of wear. but 125lbs is good.

SOURCE: torque specs for cam on 2006 honda crf250r

Rock the caps around to make sure the bearing locating clips are lined up. Torque the bearing caps to 12 foot-pounds. At this point you must check the valve clearances again. If any are off, the cam must be removed and the correct shims installed.

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

SOURCE: Problems with the clutch

The gear changing problem is going to be a bent shift fork. Is it stuck in 1st gear, 2nd gear? Those are the most common. As far as the engine quitting, I don't yet have enough information to give a suggestion on why it is happening. It could be a bad kill switch, plugged fuel filter or vent, water in the gas, carb needs cleaning or . . . A bunch of possible causes. Which one depends on how the bike has been acting lately.

How do i know i need a new clutch and clutch basket in my 2002 cr 125

Clutch friction plates are often the worn out component of that assembly. IF the plates don't spline in correctly with the basket due to some physical damage, then you should replace the basket. The clutch is comprised of an inner and outer hub that become interlocked through metal disks and friction disks pressed together under spring pressure.
