I don't know exactly what you're asking. But most engines today are CDI (capacitive discharge ignition); motorcycles or otherwise. Also, not sure on size limitations, but I'd be surprised to hear of a modern gas/petrol powered motorcycle that did NOT use an ignition coil.
Check the wires connected to the started itself The fuse on the starter is connected to the wires that run to other component +/- wires are connected to.
If you ever have to jump start a motorcycle with a car DO NOT have the car running. Having the car battery in series will provide sufficient power to start a motorcycle, but the amps generated by a car alternator will wreak havoc on a motorcycles electrics.
