Check the fuel filter, next fuel pump pressure. If it backfires when you back off the throttle it is most likely not getting enough fuel. Check the plugs they should be tan, not black and wet(to much fuel) or white with blistered electrode or insulator on the inside (not enough fuel). Also check for obstruction in the air filter tubes and for dirty air fliter

Why does my ATV bog down and die when I keep the throttle wide open?

If you are lucky, you might just need new fuel filter and the fuel bowl cleaned out, and maybe new air filter. If not so lucky you need carburetor rebuilt. Backfire is usaully caused by engine running too lean ( too much air for the amount of fuel present). Fuel bowls get gunk in them and the fuel needles and fuel jets get varnished up. The accelerator pump gets worn out gaskets and/or bellows and doesn't give the right amount of fuel mist when you accelerate.

Runs only on half choke

Before you take it a part adjust the fuel air mixture most of these small engines are air 1 1/4 and fuel 1 turn get it to ideal just before the foot spins ( let the engine warm up good and have fresh fuel before doing these adjustments) afer a good ideal adjust the mixture for a full no bogging speed . If this does not work then start to work on the carb.

Engine bogs down when riding

the carb is not getting enough fuel to supply the motor so when u give it full throttle it will start to shut down, then when u let off it a little bit it will rev up like it sounds good ?

that usually happens when it is out of tune or the pulse hole under the drain nut gets clogged.

hope this helps

Hesitation

Check fuel pressure, fuel filter or injectors clogged. Additionally, check air admission system sensors (MAF, IAC, MAP, etc). Confirm that you dont have vaccum leaks there.

Hope helps.

32LC trimmer will start and idle but bogs when trying to advance throttle. I can not get it to rev up. I put fresh fuel mixture in it, changed the spark plug, cleaned air filter, even purchased a new...

Did you try cleaning the carburetor before installing it? It may have factory oils and greases that are obstructing fuel flow.

If it runs fine at idle but bogs down when reving, then you are either not getting enough air or not getting enough fuel.

Have you notices any black smoke from the exhaust when you try to rev it? If so then you are running too rich and aren't getting enough air. You may want to check the path of air travel for other restrictions.

Hello you have a heavily rusted fuel tank, i would suspect the fuel petcock is being restricted.
As for the fuel tank here is a link to a product to remove the rust from your tank.
I have used it and it gets rid of it excelent product.

2001 V star 650.. Bogs out then corrects itself

If the bike runs better with the choke on a quarter or more of it's range when you're riding it can mean that your motorcycle's engine isn't getting enough fuel into the engine to run normally. Meaning you are running too little fuel into the engine. This can show up as a dead white spark plug with glassy bubble deposits around the electrode.

Possible reasons for this condition;
a. The fuel filter.
b. Most likely the motorcycle hasn't been run enough, this allows the fuel to evaporate in the carburetor and plug the jets that regulate the fuel/air mixture.
