Motor bike not working

I was riding slowely in the work place and the engine seemed to be starved of fuel, ideling very rough and then it stopped.
I had a simular situation a couple of months ago.
It was the battery not holding charge so i replaced it with a new one.
I have had the bike since new, purchased 2001.
regards

I am guessing that you have suffered detonation where the fuel detonates before the spark occurs placing extra load on the piston which slaps hard against the cylinder wall. It will do serious damage to the piston if left unattended.. It is normally caused from incorrect air/fuel ratio (lean) or timing out or over heating Take it to a bike shop not a general car garage as motor bikes are specialised equipment.

Suzuki dr 250 revving high

Did you checked the collar where the carburetor plugs on to on the cylinder head? They usually crack and **** extra air through. Also remove that rubber collar and check the o-ring it has installed at the point that contact's the cylinder head.

If you don't have a check engine light, Start with the air and fuel filter, work your way up to a tune up. Clean the throttle body as best you can on the inside, behind the throttle plate/s

My bike will idel but won t rev. just cuts off

Starving for fuel.
Make sure carbs are getting fuel.
Make sure fuel filters are clean,
make sure fuel pump is working.

If carbs are getting fuel but wont rev, you need to clean your carbs because your jets are clogged

Sounds like its starving for fuel. When the engine stops, instantly turn the fuel valve (at the tank) off. Then ck if the carburetor has any fuel in the float bowl.

Low Fuel Cutting

ill fill up tomorrow morning. I slowed down to take a left hand turn. As soon as i started turning the bike started to cut out and hiccup like mad. I rode the corner out clutch in while giving it full wrist to keep it alive. As soon as the bike straightened back up it came back to life. It rained yesterday pretty hard so i drove to work but i bet $1000 dollars that if i fill it up today it will ride fine again. So the question is...clogged fuel filter, fuel pickup, fuel line? My guess is crap on the bottom of the tank and when low the fuel pickup is choking/starving on the sediment in turns. So im just throwing this out there, to see if anyone thinks this the right diagnosis. Thanks for any input.,Thats exactly what happens when you run out of fuel... so it could be a bad filter or pickup clogged.,,,
