A locksmith can use your bike's ignition cylinder code or the entire ignition cylinder to make a new key. You also have the option of reordering a key from a honda CRF local dealer, using your bike's VIN. A traditional motorcycle key is the easiest key to replace.
Your vin number is normaly at the neck of the bike on the right side you may have to push some wires out of the way to see it. But vin numbers really started to appear in the 1980s so if your bike is the one that poped up on google from the 50s you may not have on and if you do it wont look like the vin numbers of today. But still check neck right behind the head light. Good luck A.J. Weaver
The chassis number(s) will not give the year of the bikes. The engine number(s) will give the year and location made of the engine only. This information would have to be obtained from the manufacturer.
The only way to determine the year of the bike(s) is to use the VIN number. The VIN number is 17 characters long and is usually located on the front of the frame.
This site, VIN Look-up, will give you all the information you need on your bikes.

there should be a sticker on the upper right side of the frame that says the year. at least on my 05 it does. the 2005 has a different body style also so look for that. you could also look at parts on it and see if any of those parts have dates on it but i think if it all comes down to it and you cant figure it out, take it into a honda dealer and have them check it out or a motorcycle shop. This probably didnt help at all im sorry but thats all i can think of.
