Most of the ford diesels have a lift pump to supply fuel. My experience is the the larger engine like 7.3 and 6.0's but the only thing you should need to do is go to your fuel filter. crack it open so fuel can flow out. have someone turn on the ignition but do not start it. run it until the fuel starts to come out the fuel filter housing then shut it off and tighten your filter housing back up. turn your ignition on but dont start it. you should hear the fuel pump kick in. wait a few seconds and then try to start it. after a few cranks your engine should start.

Where is the diesel bleed valve on a polo 1997

There isn't usually diesel bleed valves in the traditional way. The drivers of modern diesels require to arrive at a destination without smelling of diesel - even if the car did run out of fuel on the way. For that reason modern diesel cars are intended to be self-bleeding - something most of them fail dismally at due to manufacturers cutting costs...

Lots of cranking when the car is young and fit would usually get it started but the time taken to self bleed would become longer with age until a single battery would never be enough.

Modifying the fuel system by adding a hand prime pump is money well spent and then when primed loosening the injector pipes and cranking until fuel emerges from each and retightening and the engine will soon start.

Changed 2005 ford focus tdci engine put in peugeo diesel in now wont start

Two very important things. The fuel shut off valve must be working.
You will need to find out how to bleed the air out of the fuel system.

Hi my focus zetec ran out of diesel and now will not start. Any ideas please?

hi, i have found that if you locate the fuel filter, fill this with fuel and run your car it should bleed through the system you possibly have an air lock in the system somewhere this will stop the fuel from getting to the engine, you can also crack off the injector nuts ( do not remove completely just loosen one at a time ) then turn the engine over to see if the fuel is getting to the injectors this will also help bleed out the air, they are supposed to be self bleeding, but sometimes it does not work...hope this helps

Where are the fuel injectors on a 2003 2.0 ford transit diesel ran out of fuel have added fuel but won't start on ignition have been advised by a mechanic to bump start vehicle then crack open the...

The age of this transit should be a self bleeding system. But if not, you will see some metal tubes running into the cylinder head, with nuts at the end. Loosen these and crank the engine over until fuel spurts through. You will only need to do 2 or 3 to get the engine started.
I have personally used a damp start spray, in the air inlet to fire up diesel trucks before and not needed to bleed the system at all. Worth a try, just open up the air filter and squirt some into the inlet, crank it over and it should start.

My 206 1.9 diesel wont start

a diesel engine can only cutout when overheating, loss of diesel fuel and air leak in the fuel system. if you know how to bleed or ask somebody to bleed right after it stall, then start the car, if it starts immediately then it is sucking air.
