Hi Hosedragger1
I would be checking the charge voltage the alternator is generating at the battery terminals. . Lift the engine revs to 3-4000 rpm, if it exceeds 14.5 volts or so with the headlight on, then it is overcharging and will need further investigation. Replacement of the regulator module may be a good move here. There is not much else that will allow the battery to be overcharged, and it sure sounds like it is in this case from your symptoms. Happy to answer any questions you may have about it.

You are correct in your diagnosis of the charge system presenting a fault. Have you checked it in the manner I have prescribed to you to see??
The failure constant of lamps here would be a result of the charging system running at too higher voltage. If the fuses are intact, the lamps are ok, then i would expect that the flasher unit to the indicator circuit may in this case be faulty.
Can you meter the voltage getting to the flasher. If it is present here to one pin of the flasher, and you have no output from it, then replace it
Let me know how you get on.

The signals just don't seem to work. As in they don't function as intended. After looking at the wiring diagram, I'm starting to believe that this problem is with one or the other, being the VR or stator.
Check the globes in the turn signals, I once had one with a loose piece of metal in it and it shorted out the whole system.
