1) Loose bearing/bushing in distributor body. (The shaft that the rotor screws down to, goes through a bearing, or bushing, in the distributor casting)

See if you get excessive axial run-out of this shaft, by trying to move the rotor side to side, (Front to Rear, also)

.005 deviation is too loose, (Five thousandths)
If you can feel, or see any perceptible movement, side to side, it is too much.

2) What spark plugs are you running?
Split Fire, or similar, can put too much resistance back to the rotor button. This can burn it.
(Can also burn holes in your pistons eventually)

Replaced rotor and distributor cap started right away, drove 3 miles stop 2 hr won't start cranks fine what next

Re-Check the wires. One may have come loose. For external coils, check there first. Next, make sure that the rotor is properly seated inside the cap on the Distributor.
Did you also replace any of the spark plugs?
It could also be completely unrelated. Haha. Check for fuel pump operations, and that you are getting fuel. Its either air/fuel/spark.
But definitely check the wires and rotor. Hopefully you put the securing screw back in.

Best of luck, mate.

My car quit running and I put on a new rotor and cap thinking that would fix the problem. Took it for a test drive, went 1/2 mile and it died again and now wont start at all. Can you help?

Distributors are a common failure item when it comes to Hondas wether it is the coil, the igniter. Replace the distributor assembly if you have already ruled out all other possibilities such as crank sensor, timing belt...

Bought a used 1995 Camry, 4 cylinder, 84,000 miles. Car went dead at a red light after a rain storm. Replaced a rotted fuel pipe, manifold hose and pipe. Car drove smoothly but then bucked. Mechanic says...

Does not sound right to me. What does he say is wrong with distributor? There are not two of them. If he means crankshaft position sensor, several sensors can be tested by one hour of labor by a good mechanic. You can even test them yourself with a $20 volt/ohmmeter. I would check both the crank and cam sensors. If those tested good, I would check fuel pressure at the injector rail. Test procedures are available online at the link below.

My 87 mazda b2000 keeps loosong power when im driving at 75 to 80 miles in 4th n 5th gear i realize oil is getting in distributer rotors n cap could this be the problem n how do i fix it

The only way that oil would get into the distributor is if the o-ring at the base of the distributor is damaged. To check this, do the following.

Remove the distributor cap. You will see the distributor rotor inside. With a sharpie, make a mark on the outside of the distributor in relation to where the rotor is pointing. (This is important so that your truck is still in time when you reinstall the distributor)
Remove the bolt holding down the distributor. It is commonly a 1/2" or 13mm bolt. Pull the distributor. At the base, you will see an O-ring in a groove at the bottom of the shaft just above the drive gear. If you don't see this O-ring, or it is damaged, that is your problem with oil in the distributor.

When installing the distributor, make sure your mark on the distributor housing is in line with your rotor. Clean and reinstall your dist. cap.

1995 Alitma ran rough and stalled

Its just fouled some plugs again. Need an overhaul. If you just put a valve job on it it will just put more stress on the rings and will need it anyway. Not much you can do except change plugs all the time!

Are you sure you didn't damage the distributor connector? check it carefully, lock into the distributor for any pin problems there, or better yet buy a rebuilt distributor, I am sure the issue is there.
