There are seneral reasons why it has a weak spark:
1. the ignition coil might be weak.
2. The CDI id defected.
3. If it is contact point, adjust the timing.
4. If it is contact point, maybe in the condenser,so try
to replace it
5. Check the primary coil, maybe it is already weak.

My 2001 f-250 won't run the fuel pump kicks on and continues to run removed the plugs on injectors one at a time and still does same thing could it be the computer

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

From start to end troubleshooting these problems I suggest you to check the help link below and follow its procedure: -----

My 1967 bel air has a 250 l6 and won't start, it tries but just won't kick over, what should I look for first?

need 3 things to run
1. fuel
2. air
3. spark
loose any and it wont run, pull a plug wire off and crank it over.
does it spark? if yes good if no do same test with coil wire
disconnect fuel line stick hose in a bottle turn over, pump fuel? yes? good, no either filter clogged or pump bad

The Stihl 038 super won't start. It is getting too much gas on the spark plug when I try to crank it. Just replaced the carb hoping it was that but still it won't start. The saw was working fine a...

hi there mwb15
have you made sure the ignition coil is producing enough voltage to fire under compression load ?

you may get a spark at the plug unloaded but under load it may be breaking down / weak making you think its got a fuel problem ?

does your system use a cdi coil system or point/condenser system ?
spark usually falls into weak spark, no spark catergory

if compression , fuel ( you replaced carb) and exhaust are ok , and you have air and vaccuum tight c/cases only things left are timming and spark

remember F A C T S

F = Fuel A = Air & ( air tight c/cases ) C = Compression T = Timming S = Spark

compression should be about 130- 140 approx if in good running order

take a look and let me know

Sprayed down lawnmower with water, now it won't start. I decided to "wash" the lawnmower last week and now it won't start. And the really weird part is the solenoid clicks every minute...

Engine will not run with no spark or a weak spark. Continuity test will only reveal that the winding is not open, not if you are producing a weak spark that will not jump the spark plug gap.

I have a 1991 dodge ram250 van. When the engine warms up, it dies and the oil light comes on. When I check the oil, it is full. What it is the issue, and how do I correct it?

Anytime and engine dies, or is off, while the ignition key is still in the "run" position then the oil warning light should come on since there isn't any actual oil pressure in an engine that isn't running...so I dont think you have any problems related to that. What you'll need to know to diagnose this problem is if after the engine stalls if it is capable of making spark for the plugs when being cranked over. If it won't produce any spark while cranking then I would suspect the Hall Effect pick-up unit located inside/under the distributor cap as they are somewhat prone to failure and often will quit working when warm but will start working again after they have cooled off a bit. If you have spark when trying to restart the engine then its possible you have a fuel related problem such as a weak or failing fuel pump. Good luck, hope this helps a bit!

Hello, I have a problem with an intermittent &

sounds like you have a poor earth connection, possibly between the coil and the frame, try quickly rigging up a cable from the mounting point on the coil, to a bare metal part of the bike (or nagative battery terminal if available), and try again.
Hope this helps

Put in a new spark plug and check plug wire connections and ECM ground connections.

You probably have weak spark and when bump started the plug sparks strong enough to run the engine.

A weak battey can also cause this. Your ECM needs a minimum of 9V to work. (the ECM gives spark and timing) When kicking over, there is not enough volts to spark. When bumping over the alternator provides the extra volts to start the bike.

Hope this helps!
