You can not leave anything sit for 2 years then expect to go for a cruze with no trouble. The carbs probably have scum built up in side and will have to be rebuilt. Yes I have heard of this for years.

Still, I have heard of this mostly with the Yamahas. My brother had one, it did the same thing. He had the carbs rebuilt got it running good sold it a bought a Kawasaki. He says you must always turn off the fuel petcock and start it and let it run out of gas then drain the carbs before you store it for any time.

After sitting for two years, even though you faithfully used the recommended fuel stabilizer and drained the carbs before hand, it is still possible that gasoline managed to get into the carburetors while it was stored. This means that the carburetors will have to be completely disassembled and cleaned out.
You should also make sure that you drained the tank and refilled it with fresh gasoline before trying to fire it up. I have yet to see any product that will make gasoline stay use able after more than about one year, let alone two. Check the fuel tank for any signs of rust that may have occurred during storage. Rust can clog the fuel system and keep your bike from running, too.

Hi there, does anyone know where the fuel breather pipe is on my 93 Virago ?. It was running ok a few days ago, cant start it now. Trev

i think from memory the virago has a vented fuel cap,so doesnt use a breather system, however it sounds like you havae a fuel problem anyway so check the inline fuel filter(if fitted)or the gauze filters inside the fuel tap
