Hello,I have just got on 01 drz400e,the problem is that it will not run once the choke has been turned off. The bike is mint and only shows 256 miles and from the condition I believe to be true. The bike had a service back in july which included a carb clean oil and plug. As soon as you push the choke in it just splutters to a stop, the main is a165 which I have checked for dirt and the bike has a full FMF system.any other jets to check???.Thanks

Will not run without choke 1997 Suzuki GSF 1200 Bandit S

Hello, bike not running off of choke is an indication that the pilot circuit in the carbs is plugged.. the choke is a enriching circuit hence why it runs only with the choke on. When turned off the bike starves for fuel and dies. My guess is the bike has sat for longer than 4 months and the pilot jets are plugged from varnish... they will need to be removed and properly cleaned.

2003 harley 1200 custom sportster with 50 miles strats up fine with choke pulled out. once engine is warm and choke is pushed in 50% bike stalls out. have repalaced gas, spark plugs and just took apart...

A 2003 model with only 50 miles?? Wow....well,since youve already taken the carb apart and cleaned it,did you hook up the vaccum line for the VOES switch on the intake manifold? If so,..when you get the bike running,..spray some brake clean around the intake where it bolts to the heads. If the idle picks up,or starts to sputter,..youve got leaking intake gaskets. Which is a good possibility on a bike that old with that few miles on it.The choke essentailly adds more fuel to the motor, and by what your saying, the bike is obviously running lean. Also,...im ASSUMING that you have fresh gas in it,and the petcock is turned on.

Yamaha ef1000 will start then push choke in and generator stops

clean tank fuel lines air filter and completely clean all carb parts and jets just did mine runs mint now did the same thing i also put in a new spark plug changed the oil a good once over goes a long way just take your time use a good carb cleaner like crc or gumout and check the jets they have small holes on the sides that can clog up hope this helps

After I fixed a fuel line leak on my 01 v92 deluxe I can't get the bike to start. I put the full choke on and it will run for a few seconds and die. After that no matter where I put the choke it...

You probably either have too much gas or not enough.
If there is too much, the plugs will be wet, and you need to burn it off.
The full choke should not be kept on long, and you could also have an over flowing needle and seat in the carb.
If there is not enough gas, then you could still have a bad needle and seat, but could also have a bad fuel filter, bad tank vent, of you have water in the tank.

I have a 2001 peugeot speedfight 2 50cc in a morning it will not run. wont cold start i have brought a new automatic choke no luck still same well now the choke has stopted the carb from flooding so that...

white mould inside the carb is water and oil mixing together which shouldnt happen have you checked the air box to see if the filter is blocked that would let in water or do you have a k+n? which again could be blocked
have you checked the spark plug it might need replacing remove it and place it on the engine and kick the bike you should get a nice fat spark if you dont then replace it while you have it out what does it look like? oily means the air screw neeeds turning in 1/2 a turn white and powdery means air screw 1/2 turn out
give these things a try and charge the battery and it should start

hope this helps

Bike will not stay running with choke off.only has 600 miles on it.

It is likely that the dealer set the idle properly but as the bike is new it may need to be reset, most first services are scheduled for 600 miles or 1000km so that the dealer can make necessary adjustments.
You can check the location of the idle screw in your owners manual. Once the bike is nice and warm, try screwing the idle adjuster screw in 1/8th of a turn at a time until a steady idle is acheived. Otherwise take it back to the dealer, thats why you have a warranty.

My 01 zx9r is choking out around 5 grand to 8 grand only in gear

is your bike all stock? how many miles on it? sounds like a carb issue. try draining float bowls into clear container so you can see what came out.(water dirt etc)
