If the stator is producing suffient voltage then it's not being amplified by the coil possibe causes are poor grounding of the coil, poor primary electrical connection to the coil from the stator a compromized kill swith wires or possible some water in the switch it self keep in mind it takes two conductors to make a spark are you grounding the plug to bear metal when you are kicking it over ?
and have you tried a different spark plug doesent take much spark it can be pretty difficult to to visualy deterimine if you have suffient spark try putting a tea spoon of gas down the cylinder put the plug back in -cap on a kick it a few times if it fires you might be on the wrong track
Good Luck

Hi,

please be sure to use any corresponding wiring diagram from the manufacturer in order to guide you in your repair. If you continue to struggle with the machine wiring, please work with a mobile mechanic who can give you another perspective.

I have a 03 wr 250, it idles ok but backfires and throws small flames from ex when throttle is opened fast, but not opened slowly,

Nothing wrong with a bit of overfueling, the flames are a bit of a worry though. If the ignition timing is too far retarded, the mixture will still be burning when it leaves the chamber. Also if the spark plug is gummed up, that may cause a problem of miss firing causing flames in the exhaust pipe.

I have a wr 2004 250 it wont start ive changed the spark plug oil an filter an nothing it sounds like its going to start

Remove the plug and reconnect the coil pack to see if it has a good bright spark. If yes, do a compression test. If you are at least over 100 psi,see that your carb is clean, and not gummed up with old fuel.

Ho wdo i find power to install a 12 volt light to

YZ series mx'rs dont have a lighting coil thus do not have a 12v supply.WR series do.(but they don't come in 125cc at least not here in Oz). Am not sure if WR 250 stator will fit(I very much doubt it).The best next suggestion is to check in MX magazines in advertising section uasually at rear of mag for stator repairers & ask them for advice.
