Intermittant ignition problem on suzuki csx550 . The bike normally starts and runs OK. Sometimes the bike will cut out on the road, sometimes when you stop the engine it fails to re-start. The last time this happened I removed a plug and checked for a spark, there was none. After a period of ten minutes or so the bike started and run OK. At present I have the wiring loom striped out looking for faults (none found). It has a new battery and plugs, the general condition of the bike is excellant.

ok sounds like a battery/electrical fault. firstly check all connections to battery. does the battery go flat, have you a volt meter to check the battery voltage. if thats fine we'll move on to the alternator output / rectifier, let me know
Mine has the same fault. The ignition sensor leaks to earth when it is hot so engine cuts out. I've had two sensors fitted. But They still leak to earth. Trying to get Suzuki to sort, permanently.
It's electrical problem, it seems like something is draining your bike's battery, not letting enough current to go to starter for a strong engine cranking, I suspect there might be a short circuit within the ignition switch and/or wiring, as you said the bike keeps running even with the key out.
Hi!
What you can try is to cool the "camshaft rotary sensor" by pouring (normal) water (which I also did just last week) and it works to start & run the car until the next pull-over. You have to redo pouring water if you stop the endine and does not re-start. But this may be just an emergency solution wherein you have to let the car be serviced by a mechanic.
